172 Cup Hillclimb / Sprint Car

if it was me id do the shenstone and district curborough championship. I believe its 35 quid to enter the championship, and there are 9 events over the year, so if you made 4 of them its well worth it. I guess you dont even need to enter the championship, but for 35 quid I dont see why not...

    Lightweight battery

I was speaking to Paul Roddison at Roddisons Motorsport in Sheffield last week, he showed me a battery he uses on all his race cars. I think they are £240 and weight around 0.5kg. They are so light its insane. I will be doing the light weight battery route before any fibreglass panels now!

    What vice do you have?

try bidspotter or the likes for toolrooms and workshops being auctioned off, loads of cheap stuff, vices normally go for a 10er max. There is a big one in sheffield today but its all drills and taps etc.

Looks like my bean got written off this aft :(

my cousin has an r26 and I much prefer the clio, miles better imo! If it was me I would buy back cheap as piss and repair, then use it. Its ok saying you wouldn't want to chuck loads of money at it via servicing and running costs but that's all they are, they don't tend to increase the value of...

How often do you change your gearbox oil?

anyone reccomend what oil I should use and where is best place to buy? The car will do no more then 200 miles within the year and more then likely less then 50 as its for sprinting only. Also is there a certain tube people buy to fill it with / make it easier? Thanks

Sorry to bump an old thread, how did people get on with the R022 cage with when running a HANS? I rang the MSA technical department and they tell...

Project 172 cup, sprinting one day??

Update: I have just took the car to the weigh bridge and it weighed in at 930KG. I will try to loose another 30-35 KG just to get into the 800's, but mainly so when my fat 108KG arse is in it it still comes in under 1 tonne!

    Hillclimb spec

I think the classes in regards to 1A 2A etc are relative to what championship you are doing. I will be doing 3B for examplewhich is modified production upto 2000cc in my championship, but I think in another that could be a different class e.g 2B. I might be wrong though. The easiest way to stop...
