Lets resurrect this post.
Using the 80/20 rule I think Im going to change oil and filter around the 2,000 - 2,500 mark.
Meanwhile, mine has used a little bit over its first few hundred miles (I mean a little bit, but Id like to keep it topped up just for piece of mind). Can my learned...

Good point - back to the ranting!!!
What about oncoming cars at night, who switch from dipped beam back to main JUST before they pass you, thus blinding you but giving you no time to retaliate. Must take hours of practice.
I love a good rant. So theraputic.
Hi Capt:
People not indicating on roundabouts
Agreed, but there is no need to indicate if going straight ahead and either lane is suitable unless otherwise marked.
Either lane - agreed. Indicating - disagree:
<a target="_blank"...
... and why do all slow drivers wear hats?
Why would you want to wear a hat in a car anyway? I spose you might want to if you have a leaky sunroof on your 16V (sorry).
1. Rear foglights left on for days after a light mist
2. Middle lane cruisers
3. People who cant do roundabouts (dont indicate, indicate right on the way in, then go straight on, straight-line it when Im on their right!)
4. Mobile Phones (especially near roundabouts - Hands-free kits are...
I just take the attitude that no journey, however important, and no matter how late I am, is worth dying over.
I feel a new topic coming on - members top five driving annoyances.
Anyone want to start?
Dont forget also that your tyre sidewalls contribute to the springing of your car.
So, if you assume that a lower profile tyre has a stiffer sidewall you will increasing the effective spring rate. This may not be a good thing - harder suspension does not mean more grip (just the opposite...

Yep, did some aeros in a 152 with a guy called John Harper, ex British Champ. Hes the only person I know who can loop one whilst eating an apple!
Didnt keep my hours up, unfortunately. Took up car racing instead.
Meeting sounds good - probably when theres a Cliosport meet closer than...

Captain - bit OT
Im an ex Cat A PPL - couple of hundred hours, mainly in a Jodel D117 (proper plane - taildragger), very few instruments (IFR - I fly roads).
The only time you can have too much fuel is when you are on fire

At the risk of getting ripped to bits, I think it should stay.
There are enough warnings and comments to put off those of a nervous disposition. Its not going to make anyone drive faster, and if one member drives a bit more carefully and doesnt get killed as a result then its done its job...
Thanks everyone.
Captain - yep, Ill get it checked out. If its a fly-by-wire throttle I suppose the potentiometer could be faulty/dirty as you say (exactly the same as a dirty volume control in your hifi amp at home - crackle, crackle, BLAST!)
