Well, I dont know about me but my wife would be a BRM H16:
Makes a tremendous amount of noise, breaks down a lot, costs a fortune ... and seemed like a good idea at the time

Didnt have a problem with customer service.
As far as I know all the salespeople are on commission-only, so they must have had a good week when you went
Does it do it at all junctions (i.e. is it tramlining)? They seem to be quite prone to following undulations in the road, especially under braking.
Does the steering and/or brake pedal vibrate when braking from higher speeds (i.e. possible warped brake disc) ?

I bought mine from Trade Sales about 3 weeks ago.
I would give them 9/10. The whole buying process went smoothly and the car was ready when they said it would be (6 days later).
The only niggle was a small chip on the rear bumper. Because I had travelled 140 miles I was reluctant to go...

Doh! Why didnt I look in the toolkit? Bit hard of thinking today.
I gave the flap a bit of a tug and nothing happened (matron!). Ill go and try a bit harder.
Ta for your help.
Pete
This is a very basic question.
Thought Id better familiarise myself with the underbonnet layout of my 172 (far better than the Braille-at-2am method).
Is it me, or is the oil filler under the plastic shroud thingy?
If so, to avoid the Halfords Shuffle, what size Torx socket do I need?

I was talking about mechanical grip rather than aerodynamic grip.
I would have thought this effect would be negligible at normal road speeds unless the cars front end and underside has been modified.
Geordiepaul - correct I think.
If you have less ground clearance you will probably have to run the car stiffer to stop it grounding out. Stiffer = less grip.
In theory lowering your car may affect wet-weather grip, but there are lots of other factors involved (tyres, tyre pressures, srings, dampers, anti-roll bars etc.).
One reason why race cars are set up softer in the wet than the dry is to do with weight transfer. For instance, on a right-hand...
