£11,992 On the Road. This was a Dutch import car from Trade Sales, Slough. Price includes CAT1 alarm upgrade, 6 months tax. The car is as per the UK spec (includes CD autochanger etc.).

I was talking about mechanical grip rather than aerodynamic grip.
I would have thought this effect would be negligible at normal road speeds unless the cars front end and underside has been modified.
Geordiepaul - correct I think.
If you have less ground clearance you will probably have to run the car stiffer to stop it grounding out. Stiffer = less grip.
In theory lowering your car may affect wet-weather grip, but there are lots of other factors involved (tyres, tyre pressures, srings, dampers, anti-roll bars etc.).
One reason why race cars are set up softer in the wet than the dry is to do with weight transfer. For instance, on a right-hand...

Daipac,
I have a list of stuff that my local Renault dealer has asked me to send to Renault UK. One of them was a photocopy of the dealer stamp.
I dont have a dealer stamp either - just the chassis number on the back of the book. Renault dealer seemed to think that would be good enough...

Ive got a Linux 172 too. It only cost 200 quid, but instead of pressing the keyfob I have to type:
dropn -front -drvr -now -noalarm
to get in.
My mate has a 172 XP, which is like a 172 98 but its a different colour and it needs a turbo kit to get it off the drive.

Captain, your thoughts please on the castor change.
Traditionally, a castor increase would give you a more positive turn-in but would reduce ultimate front-end grip (e.g. good initial turn-in, transitioning to understeer mid-corner).
How much of an increase are we talking about here...
