How does it get into the lacquer? Badges put on before the lacquer had properly gone off? So it absorbed some of the adhesive then went rock hard?
Regardless, it's a pain in the a*se. I wanted to put a amall sticker where the big S is. :(
Took badges off the boot earlier, much gentle rubbing, claying and polishing later and I'm left with this...
Rubbing fingers across these marks they can't be felt at all so it's not an obvious sticky residue or dirt build up that can be cleaned off the surface :S

Yes, you'll have no problem at all.
I have a set of 15s that are ET35, and running 205/50/15 tyres I have no problems with clearance.
My Cup looks like a tractor though, standard springs/dampers and minus 117kgs means it sits up a bit so I've got loads of clearance...may be a bit tighter if...
I'll be making my own way there I think. Pointless me adding an extra hour to my journey over to Pompey just to be outcast to the back of the convoy in my Ignis ;)

Woop. I'm coming now...wasn't sure if I could make it but pulled in a few favours and I'm good to go. Full 6 track sessions booked too - will be interesting as the Cup's staying at home and I'm bringing the mighty Ignis!

I swear mine is less now than it was lock-to-lock. Having said that I've never counted...how many turns on a standard PAS rack?

My CLs held together well on several track outings. But a set of Pagid Blues I ran looked like the s*ite-stuff pictures in the OP.

For what it's worth, here's the dyno graph. The higher/second curve was with no PAS, and a change from standard airbox to an Espace V6 setup. Gave 10bhp all in, and the RR owner says 7bhp is the going rate for losing PAS so that makes 3 or so for the filter.

It's manageable but has taken me a while to get used to it.
Released 7bhp (back to back dyno runs proven) and saved about 10-11kgs.

Need to see that setup up close Mat, my IS suffers really badly from fuel surge too...anything less than 15 litres or so and I can't brake or corner without it stuttering or dying completely when I get back on the throttle.
I've run a set in the past...running 205/50/15 rubber. This was on standard suspension with some modest strippage.
Cleared the calipers fine and no rubbing.
So it wasn't the pads that were letting you down, you were failing to get any pressure onto them from the spongy fluid.
Do this then you can really determine how pads feel/behave, if your fluid's sh*te it doesn't really matter what pad you run as you can never press them against the disc hard...
Cheap ones can do the job just fine.
I bought mine on eBay 4 years ago for £55 delivered, came in a sturdy case with 2 batteries and is more than capable. I always start and finish by hand though.
Only had it out once since the Ignis landed, and that was only to see if I could clear the rust from the back discs. Spends most of its time hiding behing Iggy now and being walked over and slept on by my cat.
