The more I read the more it seems like it's a waste of time using them on a dry/warm track day, but should be perfect for a wet/damp day.
I just keep them for autosolo for now and find something else for trackdays.
As per title - just managed to grab a set with 4mm+ tread left for free.
They are only for Autotests but wondering how bad the wear is, whether it's worth giving them a crack on track (lol?) or whether they'll melt in three laps.
Never rated the Paradas.
AD08s are about the best road/track tyre you'll find - they start suffering in standing water when they are worn a bit, though.
Where/what have you found anything track orientated cheaper in 205/50/15 than 195/50/15?
Everything I've looked at has been anything from a little more expensive in 205 (V70a) to a lot more expensive in 205 (AD08s)
Get some of that chick stick stuff (or even black crayon!) and make it look like it's been repaired on the pavement side.
Put camera or sit in your car.
I'd be pretty keen to catch the c*nts - what's to stop them doing it again once it's been repaired?
There's going to be almost no appreciable difference in figures between air filters.
It wouldn't hurt to spend a few more pennies on a foam panel filter over a cheap paper one, but beyond that don't waste your time (or money) thinking about it.
Always get the engine hot before removing glow plugs ;)
Is a new head from a breaker not an option?
I don't think you'll have much luck with the chemical metal route.
This. I had exactly the same issue when I replaced my alternator recently.
It's not like you can even miss this, though - it made refitting the belt an absolute arse of a job. It's obvious when the tensioner is seized and I'd say that he either did it knowingly or he doesn't know what he's...
Possibly, but you're probably talking somewhere close to 50PSI if that is the issue - not something someone inexperienced should really be doing. An exploding tyre is very dangerous!
Did the place you spoke to not indicate what the issue was?
I'd take it somewhere else and ask them if they...
When I was looking for a Clio, I walked away from three Clios because they had budgets on.
When you're spending £2k or less on a car, £250+ (Would have been £380+ for tyres I wanted on 16s) to replace the tyres straight away is a big hit, and many people looking for a Clio would not be...
I think with trackdays, you have the potential to do a set of R1Rs on the front each year.
With AD08s you could buy a new set each year and chuck your old ones on eBay and recoup half your money back.
Assuming thats mostly consisting of going for a blast, it's heat cycles that are going to...
Burn rubber out, cut sleeve, press new sleeve in and tack it to the wishbone. Copper grease the polybushes and assemble.
I had an issue pressing the new sleeves of my Powerflex kit in, but a bit of time and care saw me right in the end.
Have you tried pumping it up with a compressor? You may find it'll just pop back on the bead. You might need a fair bit of pressure to get there, though!
If in doubt, just take it to a tyre shop.
Can't really see if the tyre is damaged or not.
I'd take it to a trustworthy tyre place - it could just be a case that the tyre wants refitting or there is something wedged in there.
They wear quickly, especially in heat and only come with 6mm tread IIRC as opposed to 7-8mm with the AD08s.
The AD08s wear incredibly well - just what you need when you want an all round road/track tyre.
There is very little need for a handbrake. I'm glad I'm not the only one that finds the standard one useless, though - I had considered replacing the handbrake cable.
I keep reading conflicting stories regarding tyre pressures for promoting oversteer.
Some say lower pressures allow more...
