ive just got the cable into the s video on my dvd player and into the tv then using a phono to connect to my hifi for audio... the scart wasnt in at the same time..

jings! i got told it did, i was just farting about anyway, im gonna get one of these samsung upscaling dvd players this week, should be a decent improvement with that connected via HDMI eh?...

got one thru today just to see the improvement from scart, but when both are connected i only get 'no signal' on my screen? the tv recognises it as its not dimmed out along with HDMI etc in the menu. anyone any ideas, im sure its a simple thing ive done wrong... thanks :)

my wee pissy asda dvd doesnt have have component connections, i take it if i get the samsung upscaling dvd player i would connect it via HDMI? then the dvd or tv to my receiver via optical for the audio? im slowly picking this up lol...

according to that av forum, blue ray is looking grim as most tvs on the market whether hd ready or not arnt able to cope with the performance of blue ray, could be wrong tho im a total noob to all this stuff, just never branched into it all b4 now!!

i like the look of that Sony one altho since ive got the bose, i wouldnt need the speakers so would i be better just stickin with the denon? is it hard to set up these receivers to get true 5.1 surround sound? is there any kind of dummys guide to home cinema? lol

ive just bought myself some bose acoustimass 10 speakers... can anyone recommend me a a half decent receiver to run these under 200 quid? home cinema isnt really my strong point, im not really clued up on it at all :( the speakers are recommended for amps of 70-100 watts per channel...
