Thanks Fred.
Any chance you could explain your recommendation in a little more detail?
Is the use of a thicker oil to aid the high mileage or track stuff or even both?
You mention 0, 5 or 10W - Is there anything that should impact my choice here, or do I just stick with 5W?
I took my OEM wheel off and fitted an aftermarket job and the ESP light lit up - the resulting code was "DF074 - Steering wheel angle Active coherence"
I've since replaced the OEM wheel and there is no difference. I think I centred it correctly, ensuring the little window was yellow before...
Im doing Silverstone next month and plan on doing the oil before I go. Now I don't believe that the OEM recommendation is still optimal for both a high mileage engine and the stresses of track work.
Thoughts?
It went away when I replaced just about every suspension component - shocks, springs, top mounts, ball joints, trackrod ends, poly wishbone bushes ans poly arb bushes.
I did it all in one go, so not much help but I suspect balljoints though.
I did just this today - minus the sub part. Some pics here: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?568011-mikeh-s-silver-182-FF&p=8336215&viewfull=1#post8336215
You can ignore the MDF and cutting of door cards bit as the speakers you have bought are 13cm and will fit straight in.
The...
So I have my front components (running from amp) in and relocated the cheap but better than standard FLI items that were in the front to the back (running from the headunit). I've played around with levels and various settings on my Sony head unit and I'm almost at a stage where I'm happy with...
Slightly less visionary update than the last few, but with an amp sat in my garage and finding some component speakers cheap, I thought it'd be rude not to.
Dash off to access existing tweeters
Existing hole opened up to accept new tweeter
Speaker loom spliced to get a connection into the...
I'm just curious what people usually do.
Would you splice in to the existing speaker cables behind the headunit somewhere to run to the amp, or would you make an attempt to run new cables in to the doors? Where would you usually place the crossover and tweeters?
Second question, has anyone...
Re: Anyone had issues with uprated brake fluid? For the track day and fast road users
I wouldn't bother with 5.1.
If you really want to stick some better fluid in there, grab some ATE Super Blue or similar.
My car whines like hell all the time - I'm fairly sure it's the pump as all tensioners and idlers have already been replaced.
How much are they and what is the general overview of fitting? Is it just an auxbelt off job? Do I recall correctly that removing the pipes was a pain in the arse?
Some idiot decided to crack the bolt up as tight as possible with an air gun, ruining the thread.
Fortunately there was plenty of thread lower down that was still in good condition, so I stuck some stud bar in there - no faffing about changing the cover.
I haven't I'm afraid.
It'll be a few weeks before I do, too - as where I don't need these wheels until February, I'm going to give the lacquer plenty of time to harden before refitting the tyres.
So I decided to give my new wheels a lick of paint - a perfect chance to test the new facilities.
This was a huge learning curve for me, but I got there in the end. I spent a lot of time trying different methods and techniques, figuring out what worked best for me.
The job is by no means...
They aren't going to price match against an out of stock item though.
I've found them for £85, but then they are the same price as they would be for my 16s, then I have to decide which set of wheels to put them on LOL.
My boss has gone on, it doesn't have the locators for the rotating part that presumably covers cancelling the indicators and the steering angle sensor, but after removing the plugs from the wire strips, they seem to keep it in position through the hole in the boss. However, once tight I get a...
How much more is something like a 172 to insure, really?
Buying something you don't want because you think what you do want will cost too much to insure is a little counter-productive. I mean, say you compromise now and then change again in a year, all to save what? £500 on insurance? This £500...
