Is there something regarding fitting I should know about or is that just a general warning?
I'd have thought it was pretty difficult to fit brake pads wrong? :)
It's looking like you're going to be stealing the last of my disposable this month so I'm looking for a cheap fix at the moment :P, it's £20 for one that'll fit without having to butcher my engine loom :P
Have you any experience of the pattern bits?
I'm starting to lean toward the DS2500 to be honest, whilst I can probably deal with the DS3000 every day, I think for short 60 second autotests, a pad that gets going quicker is going to be more beneficial to me.
This has been an ongoing issue for quite a while now.
Three different mechanics across two different garages have looked at it now after I failed to diagnose it, and they've had no more luck.
It sounds like it's something under a lot of load, kind of "high friction" creaking (a bit like a...
Ok, how is either pad when cold though?
The only other thing my car really gets used for is the 3 mile trip to work and back each day. Can they really be much worse than OEM pads when compared cold/cold?
That sounds great. Fancy doing me a deal with the other stuff you're quoting me on? :D
This leaves the DS3000s sounding more appealing - are they atrocious cold though?
Looking for value here really. I don't mind spending money on decent pads, but I won't spend ridiculous money for pads that are just a little better.
Gut feel seems to be DS2500 with a co-efficient of .42 or the DS3000 at 0.54.
The cheapest I've found is £130 and £160 respectively. Is there...
As per title really, Renault weren't confident they'd found the correct ones and want £60+vat per corner pretty much.
Also looking for top mounts.
What are the options for shocks? Who makes the OE ones and are there any better pattern alternatives around?
I'm struggling to see that the standard dampers are up to the task of serious "off road" use like autotests and track days.
Uprated dampers sounds great, but as far as I can see, only Koni make them and not in the 60mm spacing.
I have a cup packed 182 and I'm looking for new suspension. Mine is becoming tired and figure it might be time to cough up that little extra and get something decent.
What are my options?
I have an absolute maximum budget of £700, but the lower the better as if I can squeeze some new bushes...
It isn't from the gearbox, and I've just checked the cambelt cover and both nuts are there.
Nothing is loose, and I've found the source of my creaking - it's a mystery :P
I just found the stud I thought this was, so I'm still none the wiser.
Any other suggestions?
Mick, do you have a photo of the bolts you were describing?
Well, I found the answer.
The replacement gearbox had this stud in it when it turned up. We were using the undertray as a bolt pot, it must just have been left in there.
Any old garage can do the aux belt (not that I personally agree that a cam belt is a specialist only job, mind)
I'm curious why people are saying to only bother getting the belt done if it's non aircon though?
This appears to be most prominent over 5k rpm. It appears to coincide with the steering feeling snatchy, and almost sounds like the car is hesitating/missing but not if that makes sense.
I've recently done the gearbox, water pump and aux belt tensioner, however a friend who has recently had...
It's probably a dumb question, but I have a Silver 182FF.
Now I understand the Clio was sold in two different silvers, so how can I establish which one it is?
