Interested to see how this turns out. About time someone making a v6 rep actually paid attention to the details required. And for £500 you can't really go wrong - the kits are around that price anyway aren't they?
In an attempt to find out what's causing my knocking noises I've come to the driveshaft/cv joint.
I looked on ECP website but they don't recognise my reg and it's listed as a 1.1 not a 1.2 (:s). Eventually found a list of them and phoned them up to see if my local ECP had them in stock. They...
^ As well as that you could make it redirect to a page on your local machine saying "you've been caught and you're location has been recorded" or something to scare them? :) Well, it's not even a redirect it would just show under whatever domain is specified.
Just spoke with him told me I will need the following:
Drive shaft
Outer CV joint
Some kind of gaiter?
How much am I looking at for parts from ECP, etc (anywhere but Renault)?
Would I be better off going to a garage rather than asking the missus' Dad to do it? He does everything else on my car and pretty sure he's done it on his cars before. I have no doubt that he can do it, I just don't want something going wrong again lol.
I think my drive shaft is on it's last legs.. progressively getting worse and don't know how long I have left before it gives up.
I've been told I should get the CV joints checked/replaced at the same time.
How much am I looking at?
I noticed a nail in my tyre yesterday and gotta get new rear ones (not much tread left anyway). I only had and will continue to use cheapy tyres so not as bad as you..
But to the point - the nail was around the edge and cannot be repaired either :(
My bro's gearbox has died and the garage he goes to has found a 6-speed box but not sure if it'll fit/work.
Anyone know the answer? Obivously if needed I can get more information on it but just been asked to ask..
I can understand if someone offered you the cash you'd sell it there and then but not when you've agreed a sale already and they're travelling down to collect it. Cnutish.
I was doing some work around the engine bay and noticed that my headlight cluster was moving around. Took off the rubber seal (which I've not lost :() and pulled the adjuster unit off...
Usually the black ball disconnects only but when I pulled it out I noticed that this wasn't the case...
Was just about to start a thread about this and noticed the title..
I have the same thing except on drivers side and turning left. Faster or further turning makes it louder.
So far I've got a list of things to look at: wheel nuts, wheel bearings, discs, coils.
Just an update.. I sourced a broken lower grille which is now on the car. It's still not quite in properly as I ran out of time (ie. 2 clips aren't fully in) and they're a b*tch to get in as it has a crack in it so can't apply force. Will just have to make the slots bigger.
The bumpers coming...

Think a lot of people would advise against it, but could just replace the fronts with coaxials...? That way the standard tweeter will still work and you'll get the full range through the door speaker.
Don't think it'd sound great but better than standard at least...
With my tweeters, I cut a hole in the tweeter grille and pushed mine on top. Obviously had the dash off so I could route the cable down to the crossover but it's not that much of a task.
They are easy to remove with the dash of and it's the only way to do it.
There are no original built-in crossovers as such. The speakers can only handle certain frequencies.
A set of components will (well.. should) come with crossovers specific to the speakers as well.
