Low millage also.
Parkers gives it between 7-8k depending on condition with higher millage.
Parkers doesnt account for either of the options.
8.5k ono sounds pretty dam resonable id say.

Second hand they go for roughly £130-170 Depending how many are about and condition.
Stealers want about £140+VAT for spoiler, then you have brake light £35+VAT and the washer jet.

This is true.
It has been known for insurance companies to do simple background checking.
Theres been cases where they have asked neighbours "who drives the car"
Taken cctv from say ur college etc to see whos been drivign the car.
And sometimes the obvious belongings in the car.
Its just...
Also just to point out to anyone insuring a vehicle in parents name.
The car also needs to be registered to the policy holder.
If not they do bump the premium up anyway. So changing the car back to your name of ownership adds another owner to the vehicle. Which also you would have to take into...
It used to be easy enough to get away with Insurance Fronting...
Nowdays the Insurance Companies keep tabs on such cases and also the Police know very well what young drivers do.
IMHO its not worth the risk as you will end up uninsured at the end of the day which will screw you up later...
This is also illegal, known as insurance fronting.
(dedicated threads to this many times!)
Unless the policy holder drives the car regularly, the policy is technically null and void.
Insurance companies are wise to this and can find out.
Not a good suggestion to keep it legal.
If your young thats what happens.
My 1.0 Micra cost me £1840 !!!!
Thats when i was 17 and passed to insure F/C in my name.
It started to come down slowly, but to be legal and legit i had to sacrifice it. Built up the no claims and now get the return.
Yes its a pain and they rip you off left...
