hey people. im looking at getting a helix paddle clutch for the willy turbo, as the one in it isnt coping with 250ft lb, and with another remap and more boos will be running more. im running a 172 flywheel so i can run a 215mm one like this...
an old friend of mine had a 4.0 one when they first out, bloody fast compared to my diesel fiesta at the time, he paid 68k if i remember rightly. bloody millionares.
they have a stupid system, by if you nudge an object only slightly, be it a parked car, or oap, child etc, it fired an explosive which launches the bonnet up to meet them to give them a soft landing. on the down side doing this causes so much damage insurance companys write the cars off.
quite looking forward to it as for the first time, they are all starting with brand new machinery, so it's an even field. if last years anything to go by, i think seb ogier will be up there pestering leob, but as they are all in the same euipment, who knows. would like solberg to win again...
just over 249 at the mo, same torque figure. but in desperate need of a remap badly. and yes its an animal as it is, needs mapping to be sorted make it nicer to drive and live with.
quick question, what clutch are you running. ive got an uprated 172 in my williams turbo , along with flywheel etc, Its running a little more power than yours atm and its slipping like a bugger, just wondered what you had and hows its holding up. p.s. nice car, have been belting around...
ive had this before. once it was movement in the the bushes on the lower suspension arm, and the second time the gearbox fixing bolt had loosened and was moving when it was under load and braking.
your box will prob fit, but if you buying a valver or willy lump, use the gearbox that comes with it. it will be stronger. the engine should be a straight fit, but you will need the loom, ecu, coil pack, pretty much every thing you can get out the engine bay, also power steering rack if...
ive done this a few years back to a showcar.. you need to change a few mounts but it fits with 5 turbo box. no issues. however, i threw vast sums of cash at this, and tbh dont bother. just fit a valver or willy engine. much better to drive and to live with. it was a pain in the arse tbh.
