I'd be very interested! Can they be pre-drilled? And what's the legality of them?

    Cleaning Advice!

Right guys, I need help! (But that's another matter...) I want to know, start to finish, what to use, and the best way to clean my car. Before I've followed this: Rinse, Wash using generic brand shampoo, then Squeegee using one of those rubber blades, and it always looks awful afterwards...

    Alienware vs Dell *HELP*

Fair play chap! I don't use my PC for gaming (Got the 360 for that) and I've been happy with my pair of 17"s for ages.

    Alienware vs Dell *HELP*

If space is an issue, why not build yourself a Shuttle system. At a very rough guess, I'd say you're be able to build a pretty good gaming rig with a 17" under £1000...

    Performance Mods

Nice! I'd probably be looking at a 30mm drop - any suggestions/advice? I don't mind going for shocks and springs if I'll get a better result. Same on the pads, any make in particular?

    Performance Mods

Right, I've had my 172 Ph1 for 2 weeks now and I bloody love it! I've embarassed a few BMW drivers as well as some other cars I'd assumed to be pretty damm quick in the past (And no - I don't want to get into the whole, "It's not the car, it's the driver" arguement). I now want to start on...

    Tomtom Question

Thought that might be the case. I've heard some windscreens have a 'dead spot' where there's no heat-reflective coating - true? Edit: They can! The new units use the SIRF-STAR (sp?) 3 Chipset which isn't affected by funny windscreens and built up areas.

    Tomtom Question

Thought I'd put my Tomtom GO 300 in my 172 last night as the Mrs and I have got to go to Bournemouth in a couple of weeks and I wanted to try it in the new car. Well, damm thing doesn't work! It just won't detect a GPS signal - any ideas anyone? Edit: Yes, it still actually works - popped it...

    One Touch Windows

In the long run, Yes! - But for the moment I didn't want to spend £600 on an alarm and bits, just looking for a quick and easy way for now.

    One Touch Windows

I'm now the pround owner of a Y (Mk 2, Ph1?) 172 Exclusive, and have previously owned an X 1.6 RSi - so I bloody love me french motors! Now, a mod I wanted to do on the RSi but never got round to it was converting the passenger window to one touch (both from the passenger side switch and the...

    Dodgy 172?

That's fair enough, I'll pop down in the week and do that. Edit: That's about how my Sunday morning brain had just figured it out too!

    Dodgy 172?

That's fair enough - but if it's had 1 owner and he got rid of it in March 2002 - wheres it been?

    Dodgy 172?

Right, I'm on the verge of buying a 2001 Y 172 Exclusive from a local dealer. I thought I'd be MR fooking Sensible an get an RAC Check done on it just to be sure. In the process, I turned up this information: Manufacturer: RENAULT Model : CLIO RENAULTSPORT EXCLUS Body type: 3 DOOR...

    run code thing??

He ain't wrong! It's been so long since I've had to do any admin work on PC, I've shamed myself!

    run code thing??

I'd guess you're talking about sysedit.exe which provides a convenient way of editing a number of system files, the one you're probably looking for being win.ini - That said, I wouldn't go editing those files, just drop any programs you want to start with Windows in the Startup folder... Okay...

As well as going for VBR, I'd consider using a different Codec - perhaps MPEG4, DivX or XVid

    2001 172 Cam Belt

Word up! I'm getting a 2001 172 Exclusive (Hopefully picking it up middle of next week) and I'd like to know when it should have had/be due for a Cam Belt change? Cheers in advance!

    Servicing and Maintenance

For sure mo' fo'! I've had dealings with Whitehouse TW before as I had a 2000(X) RSi from them. Although that said, I had most of the work on it done at WH Tonbridge. Cheers for the tip!

    I'm Cracking Up -Wireless

Okay, just checking - Silver is a sod to set it up with. It's not tricky, but too long winded to go into here - Give AOL a bell, just don't tell them you've got the Pre-N version of the router, as they offically only support the 54G Version - (834 I think it's called)

Anyone know the best deals on a new PC at the moment!

That's who I use for components, and for that they're brilliant - their ready build machines are okay, if a little basic - but again, they have customer service issues.

Anyone know the best deals on a new PC at the moment!

Dell did go on a huge advertising thing recently, and for good reason! Seriously tho, Dell machines are pretty good for the money but I've had delays of 5-6 weeks with PCs from them and if you ever have to use their customer service - you've guessed it: Call Centre in India staffed by non-IT...
