But the main question I'm trying to get across is.. do I need a fast car, or a car that looks good? I know that people will probably look down at me for having a "girly" engine but I don't think I really need it.
I mean lowering it will help with cornering, breathing mods to help with acceleration. I know that with no matter how many mods it won't be anywhere near the 172 (or even a 1.4 for that matter).
I know it's slow and always will be - that's why is a con :)
Being that I'm 19 and still (just) in my first year of driving, insurance is really going to sting me.
Thing is.. I don't want to modify a 172 in the same way. It's pretty much modified 1.2 or almost standard 172. :)
I really want to either modify my current car (well, continue modifying it) until it's perfect and exactly how I want it or get a 172. I learnt to drive in my brothers PH 172 so I know exactly how powerful they are (I was very dissapointed when I got my 1.2 lol) but I also like the idea of...
I only have one on my passenger door and agree it's pointless. One of my fuses wen't and I had no spares so had to leave it unlocked over night.. wasn't worried but it was a complete waste of time locking the passenger door when the drivers door and boot are still open :s
Another bulb has blown (last time I buy the expensive ones.. £25 each in Halfrauds!) and when replacing it with a cheaper alternative I accidentally unclipped the adjuster.
This is the third time I've done it but I couldn't get it back in quickly. Is there an easy way to do this?
To confirm...
Think most people will say you'll get what you pay for, but if it's mates rates then go for it. PC should last longer and there's no chance of it going wrong.
If you can afford it I'd say go for the the PC unless you're also good with the rattle cans?
Had a think about it and actually agree with you guys. Especially for the hastle involved in doing it, I wouldn't want any more trouble with the rozzers.
Cheers.
I'm sure some people will want to.
I thought wattage didn't matter (ie. changing a bulb in the house to a lower wattage energy bulb)?
Yeah I think so would look nice providing you had the right bulbs.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it says so in my first post.
If you don't agree with it then please don't bother posting. I'm looking for help not abuse. ;)
I've seen a few people with this on the forum but can't find the topics for them.
I was wondering how I would go about putting side light bulbs in my fog lights so that I could have them on (not necessarily always on by the way...) without blinding other people, just so there's a little bit of...
You should inform your insurance company of any modifications. They may not allow it and stop insuring you, but then again if you don't declare and crash they won't pay out.
Most people don't tell insurance companies much though
I'm saving for shocks from k-tec and then getting custom springs from the group buy thing in for sale section... unless you want adjustable suspension or not really low then this would be a good option for you too at the same price range.
You're looking at about £280 for a 60mm kit from k-tec IIRC (and also I think that was inc VAT and without ClioSport discount (get membership!!)). Then there would be fitting and wheel tracking but no idea how much they cost. You should be OK at about £300.
Yeah mine's in the wheel well too. I want it inverted so the sub fires into a box as the design on the sub looks really nice. If I don't get any examples then I'll just stick to what I've got as I don't want to spend loads of money doing it and then not liking it lol.
Ok maybe my question isn't clear enough :s
I'm after pics of clios with inverted subs so I can get some ideas on how to design it (for looks, I know how it works technically).
Thanks for the input though.
I'm looking to strip my rear once my car's lowered and then do a false floor in the whole back with 1 or 2 inverted subs at the back. Has anyone done this in a clio that could help with designs/positions?
It'll either be 1 12" or 2 10".
Matt.
I was on 600/500 and was very close to the limit on texts but only used a few mins. I then way over my limit (1250 or so total messages) and had a huge phone bill so I phoned up O2 and had them put unlimited texts on for £7.50 and also take my contract down the the smallest one.
