Hey yeah was me. Yeah did spot you and had a good look at your car cos I love theracing blue ones with stripes (only way to have the RB imo) I live right next to where u saw me.
Liking the small numberplate!
The power figure is almost irrelevant wen looking at bodies because it the way the power is delivered throughout the rev range and also for how much longer it makes the power for.
The standard 182 only really makes power between 5k rpm and 6.5k rpm so youve only got an area of around 1500rpm...
Alpine units have the best ipod control on the market today.
Huge range of units starting from around £130 upwards.
A brilliant but fairly cheap unit imo would be the Alpine CDE-112RI.
Excellent unit with excellent, simple to use ipod control, including radio, CD, a memory stick port on the...
Nothing to do with not having amp.
How high is the volume on the headunit?
Alpine units start to clip at above 3 quarter volume or the unit may just be getting hot.
Could be a speaker going down to ground which will also cause it to overheat and cause problems like u have described.
Its a game...
If im honest ive never tried it and without trying it i couldnt tell u what the outcome would be.
The standard headunits in all renaults are dire tbh and changing it would make the single biggest difference. However I dont know what will happen to Tom Tom.
Yes slim is defo quieter!! It can get loud however but that can be solved with a reset and then goes quiet again :) They dont like being above my 1K Onkyo amplifier and my Sky HD box tho!! lol
Second battery installation is really based on current draw tbh.
At this level its definately not needed. Obviously u can do it if u like but its really not worth it. It can be expensive to do it properly for minimal gains especially at the level we are talking about. We very very rarely use a...
First rule of thumb.... FORGET WATTAGE. Its an almost irrelevant figure as u have absolutely no idea how each and every manufacturer reached the figure they claim, whether it be rms, constant, peak, etc etc. It means nothing. UNLESS u know how the figure was reached!
If u get power figures from...
No thats fair enough. Bass isnt all about volume anyway thats just the impression thats given off my the kids that choose to drive around with the worst sounding fusion rubbish they can afford from halfords.
The truth of the matter is that its not hifi and its not music!! Its noise!!
The audio...
Tbh the only real way to give u a bit more is to either amplify the front speakers or add a small powered subwoofer. This will give the whole system more output but if u really dont want a subwoofer then your kinda stuck.
I agree with the 6x9 theory u stated. Im not a fan at all but it does...
dont waste your money on rear speakers. There not important in a hifi system and the factory location and mounting of them on a clio is absolutely appauling.
Spend more money on the front end, plenty of dynamat and making the mounting as solid as poss. Your ears point forward and rear speakers...
Spoke to him today. He is hurendously busy and is struggling as he is doing it all on his own at mo. He is looking for someone to take on to help with the massive work load which u have clearly noticed due to his lack of being able to be at the end of the phone 24/7 :)
No i know :) sorry dude. just put it as u mentioned bout mappin N/A car.
Yep i agree with that tho. Like u sed, Buy a fast car to start with.
Unless u have thousands to throw at modding a car properly
Thats why they designed them like that so you dont have to drill holes in strut tops. Thats a sh*t design having to do that imo cos u can never put car back to original. Most dont want to have to drill the car to strut top!!! I know i didnt.
The whole arguement about things not being machined...
I couldnt agree more :) I used to love my bodied clio and revving the nuts off it but ive just had my megane trophy remapped at RS tuning and like he said above its all about torque my friend!!! ;)
In most cases it is yes. Why put wider tyres on cup spec meganes??
More grip. Why do all the guys at the nurburgring i spoke to that drive M3 CSL's put a set of rear width wheels on the front?? For more grip.
Ok in some cases maybe not but thats one thing the clio falls down on when it comes...
Id still much rather have an R26 than both cars tho if im honest lol.
Lad on meganesport has a white R26 on a 58 reg with 12k on the clock for less than 13k!!! Now thats alot of car for not alot of money!!
I never said they did but those guys have more idea than most on here about how good a car is/feels and tbh ive never really read a bad word in a mag regarding the trophy and i can see why. Great car. Maybe bit dated now but still a great drive! If i was doing the whole clio thing again and had...
