Joe,
re the earth straps for cars.... hmmmm rubber tyres?
Wasnt it suppose to stop you getting travel sick or something stupid? so why not just take the tables you can get
Eddd,
i do actually get better performance running SUL or Optimax then again my ecu is set to run on 97ron fuel and...
Why not arrange a day at the races just have a meet up point thats fairly central, have a coach ordered, have an early breakfast ordered at a nice pub that will open at 8am 4 u
You cant beat a full english with orange juice and a pint of beer
Tony
Oh BTW, if you start running GTiRs above 1bar of pressure, be sure to have lots of cash saved up for a new engine they can run safely upto about 300bhp and after that they need big work on em
(and better brakes, bigger wheels, better clutch etc )
As for the evo6 (or 6.5 TME) 0-60 in 4.8...
Ta Joe i knew it was something like that
Basically this device is bypassing sensors that actually tell the ECU what air/fuel mixture it should be getting, what it is getting is something different and thus the reason Brun had lumpy idle?
The ECU didnt know what was happening and couldnt...
OK,
octane, means better burning fuel gives more power usually and for me better MPG
Ecotek... adds air, makes leaner running, leaner running on my car is not something i want as it causes det and kills my engine.....
hmmmmmm let me see....
put ecotek on car, blow engine up... not good...
there are lots of variables that you have to take into consideration thou, air temp, engine temp, oil temp, water temp... lots of things can affect the car and the way it changes emissions.
Now say you would have added the ecotek first and the readings afterwards would have been the opposite...
Yup My alloys are also Subaru approved accessories (PD7s) which are a prodrive alloy (thus having Prodrive down the side and a Prodrive center cap ) but due to the fact they cost 1300 quid for 4 they charged me extra, now if your saying that the 18 inch alloys costing 1800 quid for 4 were...
Different RPM though, that can have an affect as the fuelling can be different so like Joe says, doesnt prove anything.
If you actually think about what this device does, it adds air, but where it adds air it isnt really seen by the ECU so whilst the ECU has adjusted everything it needed to...
Should also say that if you uprate your clutch you should declare it, even though they may not charge you for it (ie something like an AP organic type )
Tony
Ok, as ive enhanced my Impreza a little bit im quite clued up here (which makes a change )
Wheels...
I have Prodrive 17 inch alloys on my car, they cost me extra due to the fact they are not a standard part of the car (but they are a dealer accessory!)
Brakes...
Ive upgraded to a 305mm...

Nahhh, the evo8 is going to be the last one produced, then Mitsubishi may (hint at the may bit ) put the engine into something else
Best to talk to the guys on lancerregister.com for more info
Tony
Those cooper ss are nice cars and the works pack should be nice for em (but expensive at 4k!!).
We had one at one of our last meets, nice looking car, good interior etc (and nice to know that BMW has sorted out most of the problems with them now ) but id be careful about racing much in them...

Superchips! eeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!
wouldnt go that way, too many engine rebuilds due to them!
Most gains of around 30bhp are though decatting the car (3 cats on the new shape WRX) so lots of potential there
ECUTEK have a remapped ecu in developement which should be able to push the car to 270-80...
There are a few for sale on scoobynet for better money than that!
The MY97/98 suffered from Piston slap which inturn proved to be a tad fatal to the engine (cause not proven but oil starvation looks the best).
The new shape are not as quick due to them being heavier but they did come out top...

Its not a uk car its a jap import
Mine is a uk car pushing around 260bhp
This car is an early example (poss 94/95) so it would possably come with a close deck block (stronger engine so can handle more boost) and the TD05 turbo is BIG! so it can handle good power and is very reliable.
Early...
