Oh didn't realize you was that young, I'd avoid mods till you got at least 1year NCB. Depending on the company you're with, they might try to rape your premiums over any mod, even something as trivial as alloys. Bet you're having to pay close to £4000 a year?
I had a brand new Corsa SXi sport before my Clio, an the sub managed to make the whole interior vibrate, even the wing mirrors had a little dance. Pretty worrying in a brand new car haha!
I got a 1.4 and that shifts like the clappers! I think the 1.6 is about a second faster to 60 and another 10mph faster top end, but with much worse MPG.
I bet the bass tickles your shitter though haha! I got a Vibe BlackAir 1600Watt sub in the back of mine an I feel the vibrations off that go through my body an on the steering wheel, love it!!
If you wanna get the full 60RMS, then you'd need to amp em. Most after market head units will say they offer around 45-50watts, but in reality it only works out at around 23-25 RMS.
I personally would get a HU with an RCA out on it, as chances are, it's gonna sound gash, sorry to say. If you do go ahead with it, I'd keep the sub on low, and find a way (if it's possible on a renualt OEM headunit, I can't remember sorry), to go into advanced settings and try to cut the lower...
Personally I plan to get a pioneer/alpine head unit, new tweeters, replace the standard speakers with a pioneer set up an put my 12" vibe twin air sub in the boot. Should sound amazing!
Perks of pub work, I get paid crap money an weekly haha, saving is so hard! An sadly I don't see many nice Clios around town, it's all Corsas an 206s sadly :(. But if I see any of you in your Clios, I'll give you a cheeky flash!
Well I canceled my last one when I lost my job, back at work now, but deposits are around 300 for me an I think you also have to pay the first months too if I'm correct :(. Le sad!
As said before, unless you plan to replace the headunit, I wouldn't even bother changing the speakers for anything decent. You won't notice much differance as the output is crap on the oem stereo. I personally find though that aftermarket headunits look decent in our clios. As the dash isn't...
Hi guys, recently joined up an been posting for a week or two. From the Bristol area and drive a lovely little Dynamique+ 1.4 in Gold. Gotta be said it's a very nice car. I did have a New Corsa SXi and New 107 before, but they didn't have half the features my little Clio has!
Plans I got atm is...
Firstly I would speak to the neighbors and show them what their cunting cat has done an demand they recify it. If they tell you to piss off, round house kick their cat an punch the little fucker next time it's on your car.
If you can afford it and don't mind that you'll be spending a whole lot more money then go for it. Otherwise invest that money into something else that'll make you happy!
I wasn't saying keep the rear speakers, was saying extend the wire and just remove the rears. I don't see how this wouldn't work. Has worked fine for me.
