Well another minor update today...... Lack of track time is really bothering me now!! Car has sat for another month and did nothing with the next outing not until the end of August :poo:
So, not being a 100% happy with the DS 1.11s, I've switched back to RC8's. The main reason for the change...
Well shaft changed! - no sign of any issue on the bearings to the box end, but the CV joint did feel a little loose compared to the new one (as you would expect).... Initial spin round the block and all seems silent, but it will need track to determine if it's fixed or not! Must get something...
I used to drive it there and back, but as we are now chasing times having a trailer gives you that comfort to push a little harder and still have a way to get the car home if the worst happens (breakdown / damage etc).
Mine generally looks like a very clean road car, but It still draws the...
Uniroyal rainsport 3s seem to be the choice for Knockhill. Wet grip A rating and all the high powered Evo's & Cosworth's seem to run them as well... also in 15" format £132 for 4!
Sitechs VR46 wrapped one, it looks amazing! It was at KNOCKHILL a few weeks ago, but more for show as I believe it's still a work in progress, but it looked awesome and seemingly will be / is a real weapon
loud grumble on right turn under load. Having never experienced French problems before a few guys at the track came out for a lap and came up with the tri bearing on the end of the shaft as seemingly they can get very noisy before they go..... there doesn't seem to be any play on the wheel...
FLOL - cheers mate, I actually noticed yours when I came in as I said to Fraser is that Johns RB (OZ's make it stand out) but I couldn't find you until we were closing up shop and I saw your RB cocking its rear wheel at the banking and you with the camera in hand  to be fair it does make...
None taken mate, each to their own. It actually looks worse on the graphite ones, but they got sold at the car show yesterday so more silver to come, just in a slightly different style 🙈
Well interesting weekend for the Trophy! Saturday track day, hour and a half and it was back on the trailer. Either a wheel bearing or n/s drive shaft bearings away do no risking explosion and new shaft and bearings will be ordered tomorrow, east of track money but possibly a bigger saving in...
And they really aren't up to hard track use.... Used once, never again.... Can't fault the DS 1.11s so far but need a good dry. Learn your car on the DS 2500s and get rid of them Andy
Thanks mate.
Yeah your right. It's working out ok though. The plan for external modification was to be subtle but in your face at the same time, so I'm happy with it.
re the panels that was my thought at the end of the day too, that all bits can be replaced if required, but I think 381 will...
They weren't a great fit to start with mate. I filed them down and spent ages getting them to line up. After that I have black flexible sealer, so a very fine bead along the top just to hide the little daylight gap at the top..... Didn't need it but I just like things neat
Unfortunately a sessions day Neil, so really hoping for dry day too..... I don't mind them in the dry, they are actually good fun, but the wet is just too risky !
Cheers for the comments mate, hoping all I have is a good reviews of track days and very little maintenance  but of course in the life and times of a Clio that is seldom the case 🙈
Well after a check over underneath today all seems good, brakes are performing well and the DS 1.11s are hardly wearing yet seem to be performing well. Really need to get a good dry all day sessions event to see how they perform under abuse and in the heat!! Must say I'm impressed thus far and...
Thanks mate, she's a creation of passion and addiction now..... I never actually got around to fitting the deflectors yet. We had an absolute nightmare bleeding the brakes up after the brembo install, God knows how but we managed to get massive air trapped in the abs pump and after a lot of...
Ha..... Not yet mate, sorely tempted though... Have actually thought about selling up instead and starting again with something new..... Decisions decisions! How's yours going?
