    Toastfrenzy's Tin Top, some say...........

If your keeping this road legal and need an MOT you might need to leave the steering column lock on. There is a new section in the revised MOT and although I've only had a very quick flick thru I'm sure it says if a column lock was fitted it needs to be present and working. I'm almost certain a...

    Stud conversion kits

I've had a couple of sets on different cars, always loctite'd them in, and used two nuts locked together to tighten them into the hub. Never had one come loose, including hard track day use.

    Post your Youtube Channel......

http://www.youtube.com/user/ctdevelopments Not much on there really, couple of clips from my Nova at the Nurburgring, some messing about in my old kart and the track day vids of my Clio - hopefully more of them in the new year!!

What Brake Discs and Brake Pads?

Have you tried any recently?? If your ever local to me give me a shout and come drive my Cup, it'll change your mind. I'm running Brembo High Carbon Discs and EBC Bluestuff front pads and Yellowstuff rear, Goodridge hoses and Racing Blue Fluid. Before I fitted them the car had cheap Ferrodo...

Few shots of the new motor.

Nice car. You should still use the handbrake, otherwise it'll seize and when your mots due it'll most likely fail.

Help - rev counter and speedo wire colours .....

Hey mate, sorted rev wire, taking it straight off coil. Speedo wire colour from speed sender on gearbox would be good so I can take it straight from engine bay. First 8 = VF1CB1ND Thanks, Chris

Help - rev counter and speedo wire colours .....

Can anyone help me locate the rev counter wire and speedo wire on the back of the dash on my 52 plate 172 Cup. Any help much appreciated, thanks, Chris

    HAZARDous problem

Ive just had the same problem on Friday after driving in heavy rain. After doing a search on here I found water in the siren is a common problem. Removed the scuttle panel and wipers, removed siren and checked it all over - all pretty dry. Cleaned and greased contacts and put it back together...

    front camber setup

I run 1.5° on the front, which feels good on the road but was killing the outside edges of tyres on a track day, as suggested above I'll be going to 2.5° next time I set it up.

My Clio project (8500rpm + boost)

You get about Chip! I used to be into my Vauxhalls and actually spoke to you at the 'Ring in May 2009 when you were there with some mates with a tidy Cossy powered Focus and well specked Evo, and again at Santa Pod when your Nova nearly caught fire spitting a spark plug out! I had a stripped out...

My 1st Clio - 172 Cup, hopefully track day car!

Had a bit of a bargain on eBay, some 15" Halfords special alloys, but fitted with almost new Michelin Exalto PE2's :) Got to work today, took the 888's off the Speedline 2118's to store until next year, and fitted the Michelin's. Gonna use these wheels over winter and refurb the Turini's. I'm...

had my car keyed lastnight:( any good bodyshops?

Where abouts in the North East are you mate? Fenham Coachworks in Newcastle did a great job of respraying my Nova, and were very reasonably priced.

My 1st Clio - 172 Cup, hopefully track day car!

Another small update... Not much has been happening with my Clio lately, its just been taking the commute to work in its stride every day, and putting a smile on my face on the rare occasion there's an open streatch of road on a weekend drive! This happened a week or so ago... I did manage to...

    wheel refurb north-east

Dont know how much they'd charge you, but last time I asked at The Wheel Specialist at Westerhope, Newcastle they said £40 a rim (16" Turini's). Ive had a few sets done by them before (for a bit cheaper actually!!) and they've always done a great job. Last car I had done there was my Astra...

Pic request - Eibach sportlines with 15" wheels

Here's my 172 Cup. This was taken just after dropping it down off the jack so may settle slightly lower. I'd like it a touch lower tbh, but it drives excellently like this.

    Toastfrenzy's Tin Top, some say...........

Nice one mate - I know what you mean about putting a smile on your face, the small occasions I get to put my foot down a bit on the 4 mile journey to work always reminds me how much fun the car is, and having since done my 1st track day in it a couple of weeks ago I'm couldn't be happier with...

My 1st Clio - 172 Cup, hopefully track day car!

Bit of pic whoring - got sent some higher res images: Car hasn't been used all week as I've been using my dads Volvo C30 R-Design while he's been away, and I've got to say I e really missed the Clio and was glad to get it back on Friday :)

My 1st Clio - 172 Cup, hopefully track day car!

Brakes held up brilliantly mate! They've not worn much, and I had 100% confidence in them every time, able to brake late and hard, shedding speed at an incredible rate! My AP racing 4 pots and 305mm discs on my Nova never gave me this much confidence and power! I can see why not many people go...

My 1st Clio - 172 Cup, hopefully track day car!

Well, track day done and the car was awesome!! Weather was cold but dry and clear, and there was a very wide variety of cars, from Aerial Atoms to a bog standard, M reg Rover 214, with a tow bar!!! We got to the circuit nice and early and got the road wheels off and my track wheels on. Then...

My 1st Clio - 172 Cup, hopefully track day car!

Right, track day coming up on Friday, so today was pretty much my last chance to get the car on the ramp at work (not allowed to use the ramps, so do it on a saturdy while the gaffa's off!!) Started with an oil change: The oil that came out was still really clean, testament to the low milage...

My 1st Clio - 172 Cup, hopefully track day car!

Another small update with a terrible picture - fitted the 'Yanoo' 10% quickshift pin. Still have the 'stiff shift' part to fit, but after a full day working on customers cars, then a fiddle job after work and then fitting the quick shift I really have had enough of cars for one day, so will have...

    Why use 'camber bolts'?

Looking to set up my geometry on my 172 Cup this weekend, I'm lucky enough to have access to a laser alignment machine at work so can do it all myself. I'm wanting to increase the front camber for an upcoming track day, and was wondering do I NEED camber bolts? Only looking for -1.5° nothing...
