why buy them from Renault - they're just regular Recaros... Not sure how much they weigh but the Cobras I put in mine saved 40kg over the standard seats, so well worth it for that alone!

Wayne managed a 14.4 a while back - that car has a lot of miles (30k+) so maybe they get quicker as the mileage increases

I don't have a Mk1 but the major things are the same. Check the brake pads - big bucks if they're shot, even bigger bucks if you need discs too. Tyres cost a bomb, so budget another £700 if they're worn. Give the clutch a good few presses with the engine off. If you can hear a creaking noise...

Just because people say the Mk2 is better doesn't mean the Mk1 isn't a damn good car. Get one, put a few quid aside for trackdays to learn how it goes. It'll be a blast.
