I ordered mine last night fromm the google store. So from reading the Android forum I should have it in a week to 10 days.
Can't wait.
I'll post some pics and a review up when I get it.
In theory yes. I dunno bout the new boxes, but when I did it to my Sky+ box I ended up having to disable the live TV pause function, as every 20 seconds live TV would do a 1/2 second pause glitch. During payback it was fine.
Though this was one of the older ones and I went from the puny 30...
I couldn't work out what market they were aiming it at either, but I just watched the video on the apple site, and I think I've figured it out.
I think they're basically aiming for the "laptop down the side of the sofa" market.
I have a low spec latop which sits under the front of my sofa...
Re: Apple Event 27th Jan
Ooops, look like someone just totally blew their NDA out of the water:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/01/27/mcgraw_hill_exec_confirms_tablet/
it's probably to do with capitalisation of the URL.
http://www.nick-pitt.co.uk/Recording/googleb43f294c39bb6cad.html
is not the same as:
http://www.nick-pitt.co.uk/recording/googleb43f294c39bb6cad.html
Google has probably removed the capitalisation in tis process and is trying to access the...
I suspect that they are alluding to their contention ratio.
Most ISP's use a contention ratio of either 20:1 or 50:1 (depends on the class of package). This is basically a measure of how many users will be sharing "your" bandwidth. For instance, if an ISP puts 8Mb of bandwidth to an exchange...
Re: Apple Event 27th Jan
Here's an interesting link: http://blog.flurry.com/
Its a company that has analytic software which people put into their iPhone apps which basically calls home so that software authors can get metrics on how their app is being used.
They have seen upto 50 devices...
Has anyone read anything about this? I'm trying to find one for a mate of mine, and half the places claim that it's discontinued and the other half say they're out of stock.
I haven't seen anything on MS's site about it, and I would have expected them to have at least announced a replacement...
Re: Apple Event 27th Jan
it's more than likely the iSlate. Apples lawyers have been sending cease and desist letters out about the iSlate to Gawker over their iSlate bounty (they've offered $100,000 for anyone to let them have an hours play on one).
I'm not quite sure why Slates are seemingly...
yeah, i fucked up there
Not quite sure where the 1024 came from, while the 1080 in 1080p does refer to the vertical resolution, it also infers the horizontal resolution.
"out of range" is not refresh only, it also occurs with resolutions as well, it's basically a generic complaint that...
"out of range" errors happen when the monitor is incapable of displaying the resolution that is being sent to it.
You monitor is incapable of displaying 1080i or p resolutions as this is 1920*1024 while your monitor is 1680*1050, so it just isn't wide enough.
720p is 1280*720, so in theory...
IIRC Orange will allow you to upgrade your phone when you have 3 months left on your contract, but they then add the time onto the end of your next contract.
So if you have a 12 month contract, you can upgrade after 9 months, but your next contract will be 12 months + 3 months.
It may be worth...
I'm torn. I am seriously considering buying a Nexus-one, but from what I've seen online I really like the UI on the X10, and I'm a Sony Erricsson fan anyway. (also it would appear that the nexus-one US release handset doesn't support multitouch)
On the other hand the nexus-one has an OLED...
All of the above. :rasp:
Android is Googles phone OS.
The Nexus-One is Googles phone itself which runs Android, but is actually made by HTC.
I'm personally waiting for a couple of months until the new crop of Andriod phones running on the new 1Ghz Snapdragon processor hit the market.
The...
I have the install files for Windows (technically windows 1.0) in my collection somewhere.
It's rubbish.
I also used Windows 2 at school. That sucked big time :-)
In laymans terms it's how long it takes for a test packet to get from your machine to the test server and back again.
Your's is f**king terrible. I've seen better response times over shoddy VPN's to the other side of the world.
The reason for it could be many things, but it's likely to be...
The connectors on the back of the TV will likely be line-level RCA outputs. You need some sort of amp attached to them as they will only output at one volume only, this might not even be loud enough for your headphones.
All you need to connect your earphones to something 6m away is a 6m 3.5mm...
I think that when you run the upgrade process it actually asks you whether you want to attempt an upgrade, or do a clean install. Just run the exe and see if it does :-) (at least it does if you are using a standrad upgrade install disk)
Battlestar Galactica is like that as well, there's even a warning on the beginning that basically says that the graininess is due to "artistic choices".
I can highly reccomend Dr No.
The blu-ray is STUNNING. It almost looks like it's been filmed recently and just happens to be a 1960's period drama.
I suspect that the other Bond movies out on Blu-Ray are as good. According to the "making of" documentry on the disc they went back to the...
ahh, shame.
I was just gonna take my new Xbox elite and my old xbox into work for next week and play some 2 player forza and the like. Oh well, I'll just have to get someone to being their copy of the game in or something.
When you copy to hard drive with a game, you have to have the disc in the drive when you start the game, but can you remove it after that?
Say for instance, I have 2 xboxes, have them setup next to each other, could i play the same game on both by copying to the hard drive of both, put the disc...
Have you made sure that you're using the right type of encryption. I can't remember off the top of my head if the PSP-1000 (which I assume is what you mean by "first type off psp") supports WPA-2, it may only support WPA.
Having said that, I have no issues connecting my psp-1000 to my netgear...
It is just assisted GPS, it allows you to find you position much easier as it can either download a satelite almanac so that it finds the satelites quicker, or it can work out it's position initally while waiting for a true GPS fix from cell information.
For instance, google maps running on my...
