I really dont think you can argue with King on this one. All hes saying is that the Michelins work best with the suspension setup, because those are the tyres on which the suspension settings were developed and fine-tuned. I already had a loud k-tec exhaust when I got my (silenced) de-cat fitted and it didnt make it that much louder The performance difference is definitely noticable My car passed with a de-cat and its a 93K. Not sure if the garage made a mistake but I didnt mention it and it passed!:)

A de-cat shouldnt make it worse. If anything I suppose it could improve fuel economy (provided you drive the same) because less power is being lost pushing the exhaust gases through the restrictive cat. Would be minimal though.

Agree with Elliot about the weight, however the fuel tank on that 1.2 is only 43 litres, and the density of petrol is only 0.75kg/litre (about 3/4 the density of water), so even a full tank will only weigh about 30kg (average adult weighs about 65kg I think). Still a valid point though.

If your calipers are looking tatty then it might make it look a bit smarter, but personally Im not a big fan of red ones. Why not be ultra subtle and tidy them up by painting them the colour of the car if you can?
