I have ABS on my valver and it is a complete and utter WASTE OF TIME! Seriously, dont bother - the system may work well on other/newer cars but it is a bag of w**k on the valver - I would much rather not have it and am considering disconnecting it. It feels horrible when it cuts in, doesnt feel...
Think its about 80p per litre at the Shell garage on the Oxford Road (Nr. Tilehurst) - its certainly no more expensive than BP Ultimate (if my memory serves me correctly!)
I know this sounds obvious, but are you sure youre removing the correct fuse?
Even with the fuel pump fuse removed the starter motor should still turn over. Also if the car is running and the fuel pump fuse is removed the car should die almost immediately as it wont be getting any petrol...
I would say engine mounts as well! I actually had the bit of metal that attaches the gearbox to the mount shear in two and I encountered similar symptoms to those youve described - except ten times worse. Get them checked out by someone who knows what theyre doing
For the money (£50-ish) its probably the best value for money, easy mod you can carry out - expect youll notice the difference.
However, you have to put it back on for every MoT which is bit of a pain
Mine does this as well actually, but only really at about 20mph and then again between 40-50 mph. It seems like it hits some sort of resonance at these speeds and goes mad - looks really tacky.
Reckon it could still be that this speedo head needs greasing?
Lunner, all cars burn their lubrication oil (from new, even if it is a tiny unnoticable amount). This can vary from car to car as the tolerances between the piston ring and bore vary, but as cars get old and the rings get a bit worn it is likely that you may have to top up your oil between...
Oh right,
Well, Ive Just got breathing mods (piper-X element, decat, exhaust) but just wanted to see how well my car has aged really. Would it be worth it if there were other clios there on the day?
Would defo be interested in pitting my valver against some other cars (in a Ben H, Gerlewis...
Can anyone recommend a place for me to get my car rolling-roaded in the Bath/Bristol area. Really interested to see what its pushing in its 11th year of existance!
These are what I thought were the normal pipercross foam filter cleaning instructions. (Dont know if the viper uses the same sort of element?) I wouldnt use soap, just use the foam air filter cleaner provided and rinse with water as it says. Water will not damage the filter.
1 . Dislodge any...
If the front wheels are out of balance you get vibration or wobble, most likely through the steering wheel. If the rear wheels are aout of balance the vibration can normally be felt through the whole vehicle. I suppose it depends just how out of balance the wheels are.
I drove a car with...
I opted for the K-tec silenced one, because my K-tec exhaust was already loud enough. The quality seems good, marginally louder and I now get nice bubbling sound under deceleration.......oh although the power gain is relatively small, it is definitely noticable.
As for the K-tec and BB Tuning...
Been noticing a slight whiff of petrol when Ive been driving my valver for the last few days. Opened the bonnet to discover a small wet patch of petrol around one of the injectors.
Anyone else had this problem before. Think it might be that the seal on this injector has perished, what does...
That sounds exactly like mine and i was never sure whether they are actually flames or not. Should get someone to follow me at night to sort it out really. I reckon the burbles sound cool as feck but the pops could be mistaken for a backfire:confused:
Could be thermostat. My thermostat went and it took the heater to ages to get warm, you can tell if this is the problem because your water temp gauge stays rock bottom for a good while after start-up, and itll always run cold in the winter. Quite an easy job to fix.
My heater blower stopped working last spring which I eventually found out was down to the actual heater blower switch itself. I sorted it in the summer by cleaning up the contacts with emery cloth (seemed to have oxidised) and it worked fine for a couple of months, but now its stopped working...
