Get rid of that gold bonnet vent, the sunstrip, whatever it is on the wipers, sort the rims out, some nice new plates give it a clean and it'll be nice! All easy jobs!
Still miss my valver sometimes - enjoy!
Wouldn't worry too much about it having been a demo car, mate - doesn't automatically make it a dud! The cars that have been driven hard from the outset are often the quick ones!
I seriously doubt that, mate - the majority of CTR's on a forum might be lightly tuned, but I bet the VAST majority out on the road are standard. Most CTR owners probably don't even know about the forum. I see loads of CTR's about and never see any with aftermarket exhausts.
Had a play with a...
I actually like the sound of my 182 when it first starts up from cold! Sounds a bit more meaty and interesting than smooth, warm running!
I must be strange.............
Absolutely love these cars - excellent purchase!
As said by someone above, don't like the wheels, but if you do then fair enough. I'm a big fan of DC5 wheels on DC2's actually.
Varies between 5-15mins depending on ambient temps, length of time since last started and how it's driven while you're warming it up.
I haven't hit the limiter for ages so must be getting good at judging the time needed.
That's a seriously impressive time for a 16v with those levels of modification. Mild stripping - back seat and spare wheel? Also, what tyres were you running on?
I thought cammed, tuned, stripped 16v's struggled to get in 14's?
Fair play though, I've only just matched that time in my 182!
If your Cav was doing 15.5's all day and the 16v is standard then I would say you'll get beaten up the strip.
Best I managed in my 16v was 15.9 which isn't a bad time for a 16v, and that had a decat. Fastest 1/4 miles I've heard for a standard valver is 15.8, although someone may know of quicker?
Looks good but would look better without all the chrome detailing (grill, headlight's etc). Suppose there's not really a lot you can do about that though?
Don't work down in Caversham, I go to the gym above Waitrose in the evening sometimes so probably then. I know the time when I turned into my house - I remember being a bit embarressed as your racing blue looked really shiny and mine was a bit of a state!
Def up for a little blast out on some...
Ha, yep, Inferno one is mine, I live in Caversham too. Think I've seen your car about rich - were you following me up out of Caversham the other week?
Rex, do you work / park outside Pavlov's dog sometimes? See a nice shiney cup outside there from time to time and I'm sure I read a post the...
Took my own oil it was around the £160.
They had a customer viewing window at Bridges of Reading and I waited while they did it so I know they used my oil. Plus I got around a litre back. Renault customer service may not be great but I'm sure they're not thieves!
Yep, the Inferno 182 near the toilet block was me, and the 172 Cup next to it was my mates.
Was my first time there as well and had an amazing, very drunken weekend!
I'm going down from Reading on Thursday 15th, getting Ferry from Portsmouth at about 9a.m.
Going down in my 182 with a Golf GTi Anni 180, an E46 M3, a Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo and supposedly an '86 911 (although it's got a big oil leak so that could turn into a 406 diesel estate!).
Should be...
Sorry, chromes only belong on big american SUV's and cadillacs in cheesy american gangsta rap videos, and even then they look garish and tacky IMO.
Far to 'bling' for me, may as well have fitted spinners.
^^^what he said.
I had the silenced one on my old valver. I'd already had a full K-Tec system fitted for a while so was loud before, but didn't make too much louder with decat.
It did start to pop on overrun once the decat was fitted though - great fun.
Mine sounds fine to me, no noise at all really apart from increased revs and slightly whiney.
Mind you, I did come from a 16v that sounded a bit like someone shaking a bag of spanners on cold-start.
