It's because it gives an average MPG reading since the last time it was reset, therefore once you've clocked up a lot of miles without resetting it will take quite a bit of driving away from this average MPG figure to change the reading. Reset it and watch how quickly it initially changes...

Looks ok I guess, but I don't really see the point? The whole point of carbon is that it is light and strong, yet that part requires no strength and it would be lighter to have nothing at all a la cup.

Nope. not any more. When I changed from Valver to 182 it only took about a week to get the plates switched over.

8.5k miles in 12 months. Wouldn't worry about it too much though, everyone's got different mileage needs. Just make sure you keep all the servicing up to date and use the best oil you can afford if you really care about the condition of your engine.

Arctic Blue, Black and Silver all look good, but are a bit boring IMO. Love Inferno, Liquid Yellow and Racing Blue in that order of favourtism, as I think they look that bit more special. There examples of all colours in the image gallery.

I stuck to Mobil 1 15W50 in my valver and it ran very smoothly and was quieter on start up than the Castrol Magnatec the previous owner had put in it.
