surely the brakes cant cope with the weight shift though, unlike a car with a brake bias valve, so really its still going to be easier to lock up than a car that doesnt come with abs?
where the shock absorber goes onto the hub carrier. Its mounted using two bolts, take the wheel off and youll see what i mean.
Youre looking to measure the spacing between those two holes.
Can almost guarentee that its going to be 58mm though.
id say wd-40 everything in advance of taking it off, but if its a 182 then i doubt you have to worry about anything being siezed!
easy job otherwise, let us know how you get on.
standard brakes arent THAT bad...
if your discs and pads are ok, then get your brakes bled, then think about an upgrade.
16v calipers will fit, but youll need the vented discs aswell.
essentially theyre the same as springs and shocks...
my point was with reference to the helper springs you often find on coilovers, a small soft spring which reacts faster to bumps in the road than the main spring - thus giving you a smoother ride.

the spax springs are pretty harsh, even with my dampers on the softest setting its pretty harsh.
You wont get a kit that performs well and handles well, imo.
The spax 60mm springs are harsh mainly because they have to be, due to how much the lower the car - youll find that with any kit that...
my point was, anyone with a mk2 clio haynes manual will be able to tell you. Even a wee trip to halfords and see if theres any manuals sitting open (usually happens)
my other point was, torque settings arent the be all and end all, youll need a long bar to take the nut off, use the long bar to...
get a haynes manual, mine is in the car otherwise id have been able to tell you.
just tighten it up until it feels as tight was when you took it off, lol
rough translation, you get the general idea atleast.
CLIO RS (except Ragnotti) are equipped with an ABS and a distributor electronic of braking managed by the same unit. The fact of disconnecting the power station ABS (for example by removing the fuse of food of the latter) thus made lose the...
Chris1.4RT, the rear brakes do hardly anything, fact. When you fitted your shoes, im betting you messed up with the adjuster and the pistons had to travel further than they should have had to (due to the spring forcing the pistons back in), this basically means that the more effort it takes to...
failed a few things apparently, but not sure what it actually failed on, and what he decided he was wanting to comment on.
Failed on a leaky rear wheel cylinder - fair enough, it happens, its being replaced
Excessive rise and fall on the nearside front disc - and although he noted this and...
yip, its either the mount youve just bought, or that one being so stiff has caused the others to wear rapidly.
Sounds like the one youve just bought though imo.
Jonesy, fill the gaps on yours with a sealant if youre looking to stiffen it up, or take the rubber out, and rotate 90 degrees to...
actually, ive not had any problems using the cutout on the windscreen for my gps reciever. Obviously nothing inside the car is going to be as good as outside the car in terms of the amount of sky (potential satellites) it can see, but its as effective as having a tomtom go, without the solar...
cambelt doesnt have anything to do with the power steering.
As a side note, i had fluid coming out of my PAS reservior and it was just a dodgy seal - obviously check fluid level (somehow), and it might be worth replacing the cap and seal.
has to be the 52mm bolt spacing for the BB0A (your car)
afaik the apex kit doesnt fit, as im sure i tried to order a kit from MSW and was told it wouldnt fit - only rear alternative was coilovers, or a spax kit with adjustable dampers.
nah, dont think it was me, might be wrong though! lol
here she is ;)

lol, tell me about it! im on holiday so was down in irvine seeing a mate, got home, spoke to another mate and ended up going through to clydebank (or nearby, not actually got a clue where i was, rely too much on gps) to see her, which meant i wasnt home til early hours! lol
whats your excuse? :D
it was me! was about to post about spotting the blue 182 with the stripes... the flash was only in approval of the car btw ;)
was just heading home, live on argyle street...
did i mention, nice car? lol
