not me, but i know the one youre talking about, had to look twice to make sure it was a v6 badge, lol.
there was also something else that stood out as not being a mod id have, cant remember though! lol
mk2 172s are notorious for it... to do with the strut and the top mount, renaults fix is to grind a small part of the top mount away, they should do it for free since its a known fault
m4rk, i think most people were thinking what you just said but refrained from saying it.
Having said that, worse things have happened, people do stupid things, and make mistakes... hes just lucky he didnt hit anyone else.
you dont say what headunit... if its standard then youll have a hard time
the likes of alpine and pioneer headunits have ipod adapters available for them.
gains possibly set to high if the amp cut out
100hz means more movement from the sub, so more work for the amp, to be basic about things. As said, it prevents frequencies above the set frequency from being played.
i totally disagree...
my mate runs Morell tweeters with RE XXX mids, through a Tru active crossover ran off of a Rockford fosgate 851x amp, and the quality is far superior to the pioneer components he used to run, or any other components ive heard for that matter - in most cases, you get what...
doctor fox, there isnt one insurance company that wont pay out to a third party on a void policy due to unclared mods - so i wouldnt be any more pissed off than someone with a standard car running into me.
lol, sorry, i wasnt arguing either. Was just suggesting that you dont fit anything to the car without declaring it. Its funny though, when my mate woke up after his head operation after an accident that almost killed him, the first thing he asked (after asking if his passenger was ok, even...
not that easy if youre lying half dead in hospital, or the car has just been stolen... thats what people forget when they take that approach. Much easier just to declare the mods in the first place, or go with a company who dont bother about cosmetic mods.
and its still technically fraud...
i know, but try getting a battery from halfords or similar that exactly matches oe spec... youll be hard pushed. You can all say in nit picking, but thats exactly how alot of insurance companies work - yet i still wouldnt go out of my way to inform them that i have a slightly heavier duty...
CupCake, personally i think youre being unrealistic
i see your point and totally agree, but think about it, most people cant even remember every single one of their mods, theres no chance in hell that everyone on here could declare everything.
Granted, the obvious mods that you can remember...
the DEH-P860MP is a Premier unit... the DEH-P8600MP carries the Pioneer badge and is more expensive. Basically the same unit, but i think the premier units are defective units from the production line which have been repaired.
Pioneer over panasonic any day for me.... cant fault pioneer from...
wouldnt say that was fair
different people have setups tuned to different frequencies. SPL at 33hz on your car is likely to be different from 33Hz in someone elses car. What they really should have been using was a sine wave as said above, to test SPL at a range of frequencies - thatd have...
VERY nice
the only problem i have with any kind of polisher, is that my cars silver, very hard to achieve that kind of mirror finish.
Anyone got any pics of a PCd silver clio?
best to try companies like HIC and CIS if youre planning on modding the car. Not just a case of who gives you the cheapest quote justnow, its wholl give you the cheapest quote after the mods, and whether the mods are worth any increase in premium.
top of the dashboard comes off easily, and helps alot. I fitted my first headunit with great difficulty, second one wasnt a problem as i just took the top of the dash off! lol
Scribbler, just wiring a switch in would trigger the circuit. You really need a resistor to fool the circuit into thinking the airbag is still connected.
as i said, wasnt a dig, just a comment. In fact, the comment was just used to emphisise the fact youre never safe (in terms of getting caught) if you speed.
a laser detector will hardly ever save you... it works by emitting two signals which bounce back, the signals measure the distance, and the difference of the signals, over the time taken between signals, is as basic analysis of how it works out what speed you were doing.
The fact it didnt...
yeah sorry, thats what i meant!
ive read through how to take the dash off, and im not sure its worth it... lol
just wondered if anyone knew of any easy-ish way to get it off, would have been useful, lol.
what you planning on doing with yours mate?
yeah, that bit!
same story here... i almost forced it off, and i think it is seperate, but secured really well, so would be a dash off job... which i cant be bothered with at all!
hi, just wondered if there was any easy way to get the centre console surround (the surround which the headunit and fans sit in) out on a mk2 ph1 clio
thanks in advance
disconnect the wiring for the airbag and wire a resistor in (no idea what value, but im sure someone will know).
If you wanted, you could technically wire a switch in to switch it the airbag and the resistor... but thats maybe going a bit far...
