Here are some pics from the thread:
That hole should be a tight fit on the bolt....
(The Clio those pics are from is a dedicated "production series" racer, but others are finding the same sort of thing on normal road going Clios.)
Fill out all the details (where you live etc.) and try a different Email address. Or let me know what username you're trying and I'll let an admin know.
Yes, they certainly have. I've been using a Maxi Cosi Cabriofix baby capsule with their ISOfix base- it fits nicely in the back of my 182 Cup. My wife even has plenty of room left in the front. You can also buy the Quinny Zapp pram and the Cabriofix will clip straight into it (once the fabric...
Have a read of this : http://www.ozrenaultsport.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9842&highlight= (hopefully non members can read it?)
Basically a number of Aussie have found the subframe mount holes (where the wishbones are bolted to) are worn and elongated. A couple have had this fixed by welding...
Here you go - http://www.renault.com.au/docs/services/Internetinfoservice-PASS-Oct04.pdf - the Renault Australia servicing / warranty handbook.
Go to page 15 and it says:
It also says down the bottom of the same page:
A guy I know in Australia had the aux belt snap at around 72000km on his 172 and just over 4yrs (IIRC?) It hadn't been replaced at 3yrs as set out in the Aussie service/ warranty book.
It took out his timing belt... he had to get the engine rebuilt. (Mind you the vehicle was used by the...
In Australia the Aux belt is listed in the warranty / service manual as 3yrs / 50000km and the timing belt as 4yrs / 100000km. The dealers also say you are not supposed to reuse the aux belt- so it needs to be replaced again when removed to do the timing belt at 4yrs :S .
They also recommend...
Remove airfilter box and carefully unbolt / unplug TDC sensor. Clean the pickup surface off with a rag and spray some contact cleaner / lubricant (or silicone spray) on the metal contacts. Wipe off the excess and reassemble....
Mine was idling roughly and it turned out to be the coolant temp sensor. The only reason I realised something was def wrong was because I caught the sensor reading -30 degrees (or something similar) when data logging with an RS Tuner. Then the penny dropped as to why it was intermittently...
With an you RSTuner will be able to check that the ECU can trigger the fan properly (in the Diagnostics you can manually operate the cooling fan on high and low speed.) You can also read off the Coolant Temp Sensor output using the Live Data while the engine is running. So basically you can...
DanR, did you find an increase in transmitted road noise / vibrations with these fitted? They look a lot better design than the loose fitting factory item.
Here's their website http://www.astsuspension.co.uk/content.asp?cat=000004#ptop , but no listing for a RSC?
You'd be better off finding someone with an RSTuner and getting them to read the codes. In my experiences (on Aussie Clios) the generic codes readers miss a lot of things that an RSTuner will pick up.
I also sent a log file from an ELM 327 interface I've got to a guy who writes OBDII software...
The green bit would be a rubber "blank" and designed to keep dust and water out of the empty pin socket in the plug. So they're not actually being "tight" by fitting it- if they hadn't they would have been! :)
Yes. You should have done that when you removed the valve. :)
You can either block it at the manifold (and remove the pipe) or else simply plug the open end down where the acoustic valve was fitted.
I just had mine changed (aux belt) prematurely at the 30 months servicing because the intervals specified here in Australia are aux belt at 50000km or 3 yrs and then it's supposed to be changed again when the timing belt is done at 100000km or 4yrs. Stupid intervals, but anyway I'll...
Have a look at these links for some RSTuner results and info on an Aussie 172:

I'm looking at swapping from Excellium 5W40 due to my engine sounding a bit rattly after spirited drives on hot days. (I'm talking 40+ degrees Celcius so it may not worry most people on here! :) )
We don't get Sikolene or Millers in Australia :( so I'm looking at Motul (300 or 8100) or Redline...
These would be a good idea IMHO along with ceramic coating of the inlet manifold- has anyone tried that yet?
Here in Australia I've witnessed some ridiculously high inlet temps of 82 degrees Celcius on a 42 degree ambient day. The lowest on that run was 65 degrees (logged via an RSTuner.)
They're often on Ebay eg. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Renault-Clio-172-tdc-sensor-and-loom-megane-scenic_W0QQitemZ200129814068QQihZ010QQcategoryZ10410QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p1638.m118
That could be because the restriction is the pipe size after the cat more so than the cat itself. The cat inlet pipe on a 182 is 2.5" and the pipe after it is reduced down to under 2", then after the centre res it goes back up to 2.25".
Any decent exhaust shop should be able to help you out - or Ebay.
something like this is what you need:
