Is there an easy way of describing spring rates and poundage for road cars?
I want to get some slightly stiffer rear springs for my cup, sat on H&R coilovers. I don;t want uber stiff but something stiffer than what I have would be fine.
Took a pic of the exsisting ones but it's all chinese...
Been gradually adding bits to the cup and apart from a cage I've done all I want now. Finished off with a wheel. Apparantly the boss kits are a nightmare to get hold of at the moment...not for Ebay, found one for a tenner...bish-bosh.
And then my mate turned up in this, imo THE...
As demon tweeks can't get hold of wheel boss kits for a 172 cup for a while, I got this from ebay. It's only a tenner so worth the risk.
The guy said it was from his ph1 with an airbag and is an airbag model boss kit.
For those that have changed the wheels on their 172/182's does this look...
Has anyone got a side on shot of their aftermarket steering wheels, preferably OMP or Sparco? I need to gauge the measurments with the boss kits fitted. I'm unsure whether to go with a dished wheel or a flat one.
Cheers
I'm looking at changing my steering wheel for something a bit more track biased. Seen a nice 300mm sparco one but concerned it may be a bit small! Standard is 380 so maybe a 320mm.
What's your thoughts? Anyone got a 300mm wheel or would 320mm be OK?
p.s. Do you get raped on insurance?!
As above and surrounding areas. My car could do with a good seeing to, PC and all that lark as I doubt very much I could do it properly. It's 90k old now and I've only waxed/clayed her once lol. Saying that, apart from the stone chips it doesn't seem that bad (dare I say it).
Any ideas on a...
Anyone got Sky broadband and one of the new Intel macbook pros? My housemate's just got one and he can't log onto our wireless router at home. I know a few other people have had trouble using wireless with these laptops.
And as we're going to change to sky, just wondered?
Cheers
Can you use clay on glass windows to get rid of the wiper blade marks?
Obviously they clean up but they're not smooth anymore, when water droplets hit the window you can stil see the line.
Tis the season again, the leg is a week or so away from her 4th birthday. Thought I'd pay homage to the old girl as she's still tickling my fancy and has done rather well over the 4 years I've had her.
89,000 miles and 2 MOT's later covering many trackdays, commuting and of course those...
Gave her a lift last night to pick it up, then she said "take it out for a blast, I trust you" :D
It's got the 210bhp Hartge kit, and everything black or carbon. As mini's go I like it a lot.
It pulls very nice all the way up through the gears and although the figures are the same as the...
Is it such a great task to make a windscreen wiper that actually works these days?!
New wiper, bit of rain and it's jumping more than a mexican bean...cnuts!
Who else makes wipers, preferably ones that work?!
I've noticed on various setups that the seats can angle outwards at the top of the seat, like mine. Some I've seen are straight up like Steve's/sm_wrc.
Can you space the subframes to adjust the angle of the seat, is this safe? Might get a chance tomorrow as she's up on the ramps.
You can't...
Right, not a genius when it comes to paintwork but sure someone can help.
My front bumper on my cup has seen better days. And after a hard 86,000 miles there's no wonder why, lol.
Basically, it's heavily pitted with loads of very small stone hits (and the odd big hit) naturally. Apart from...
Very sucessfull day yesterday, slight tweaks and she runs like a dream. Thankfully Engineering director and chief tester Tom was on hand to give pointers.
I was co-pilot but as you can see, I'm very happy :D
Did 12 laps at the ring yesterday pretty hard, now my brakes are rumbling like mad and feel like they're made of stone, lol!
They bite well and at low speeds they feel smooth, anything over 30mph and they're awful! They're plenty of pressure in the pedal aswell.
Could I have warped the...
As my front bumper is fcuked, is this worth it?

What's the average cost for spraying these and blending?
I'm currently running DS2500 and they're 60% worn. Super setup with the hoses etc. I notice the DS3000 are even more track/race orientated. Has anyone run them, are they a lot different, need a lot more heat to get them going?
I'd imagine they kill discs more too but that's not an issue as I...
Not sure if they're in production yet but stumbled across this. An H&R dealer.
Much better, doubt it's 30mm though lol.

Been looking at some bucket seat setups and Cobra are quite a bit more expensive than a Sparco setup. And as the Evo's are a nice seat I'll probably go with them.
Anyhow, Checking out the Demon Tweeks site and there's loads of bits on there. Does anyone know exactly what is needed?
Seat...
