What is you intention for drilling the airbox? Sound? Performance?
I would use a panel-filter (K&N/ITG/Green) and uprate the air-feed.
For sound just pull off the standard air-feed on the right of the airbox (near the battery).
Drilling only makes you airbox suck in more air (hot air) and...
Nice, I frankly don't think I got much more peak bhp from the mods, but the car definately feels quicker now from 3000-4000 also runs faster trough the higher revs.
I have been thinking about RR but it's too much money for 2 runs and 1 run would point out nothing. Since all clio's have...
Cool! well I read relocating battery and straight hose to airfilter like the cup racers might make a nice change in performance, but too much work for me.
I know Renault sugest you use RON98 only but the car can easily run on RON95. Henk adjusted the map to run RON98 only so more tightly tuned...
@D1CKY,
The sand wasn't in the engine, but outside on top of the inlet manifold where the manifold joins the head of the engine. When removing the sand felt down between inlet and engine(head)
Tonykart, Yeah the midrange is better and runs much smoother, top end could be the same. The map I...
Hoi tonykart,
Ja Oostenrijk, net geboekt trouwens Hippach, vlak bij Mayrhofen 8 maart :)
Yes Austria, just booked the trip 8 march in Hippach near Mayrhofen. Skipass for 620km pistes.
Bedankt / Thanks for the info!
@all, you are all welcome, it's nice to know people find my post intresting/usefull
@weeman, Near the Hague, you? (ben je nederlands?)
@D1cky, The sand was laying ontop of the inletmanifold, when I removed it the sand felt down in the ports. I removed all and the car is running fine. (inlet...
@maupineda,
Thanks, I have send you a PM with a link to the other thread where I described the matching. If you need more info PM me.
http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=291525
I also have a spare inlet manifold I can send to you, if your matching goes wrong you still have the...
No worries Point8, I'll explain
I bought a second hand inlet manifold on which you could see the dirt from the old gasket. I used that to match my ports. But left a small area so the ports were 50x29-29.5mm.
I also checked if the gasket was lined up properly with measuring the bolt spacing...
Finally went to Fastchip today,
A week later then expected I got to Henk so he could have a look at the map I had and he made some changes. (The map I already had was his)
Doing sort of live mapping on the road. With his gear in place we had a few runs and he adjusted the map a bit so the...
As I understood before, rev-limiter can be set for a few different gears. (If it is a easy job for Henk I don't know) (can't be done yourself I think)
Since I have my remap from henk in november I haven't touched my rev-limiter (7800) I change gear between 6000-7000 I guess.
Cool I will loose the old coolant and put in some new...can't be expensive. How many litres do I need?
@Matt Black: That inflatable sledge I can also tie up to the towing eye on the back, when I run some spikes it would be cool sit on!
Oh and any thoughts on snow chains! I run 195/50/15 on...
Nice replies guys!
I think I got most of it already but not the snow matt / foot pump. I going to get my anti-freeze measured, so I know what temp it will freeze.
What's a rubber dinghy? If it is just rubbers... ....that I got sorted ;)
Hi,
Next month I will be taking my car for a snowboard trip to austria, and I was wondering if there are things to prepare (car-wise) before taking it to the snow. I already arranged a few.
Bought micheline alpine mud/snow-tyres.
Going to change oil to 5w40 in the coming week..
What else...
Intrested in this aswell!
I have the same sypthomes, but I have read it has something to do with the thight-ness of the belt. Haven't tried fixing it sofar.
I won't be doing a RR sorry, so I can only tell what I noticed driving-wise. It's going to be done monday 11th in the evening. So will post afterwards.
Thanks Mattjk and Rob669,
Well it's not really like a guide, but there might be some more usefull information then there was already around.
@Rob669, I already had a remap from fastchip last year and it was a good improvement from standard, but Henk hasn't been sitting still, and improved it...
Thanks Andyman!
So it took a bit long, but I am no mechanic, only a mechanical engineer, so never really was teached how to repair cars. And yes it was my first time taking of the manifold.
Anyway I am glad with the result and that's what counts. Next is a update of Henk's (fastchip)...
LOL thanks at all the replies. Yeah I am a european, but so or all people from UK but you guys think paying with euro's is silly :)
Yeah this was my firsttime doing this job and yeah we fill up everything with sand on the main land.
@skinner, I tried slacking that bolt, but I think I did not...
Saturday morning 10.00 I went from home to the Renault dealer to get the last two o-rings for the injectors. Then I was ready for fitting the lower inlet manifold I matched myself.
Paying for the parts I got f**ked and need to get back the Renault dealer on Monday to get my money back. The...
Ok,
Took a week longer to get to it, but I am fitting the inlet manifold next week. Also changing oil and filter.
I will post my findings as soon as it is fitted.
Still any tips for fitting are appreciated. While I am at it what service can I give my car?
I don't have a picture, but the one with the pipe already attached is fitted on the underside of the airbox, and runs under the airbox straight to the front of the car behind the passenger headlight.
The other hole is run behind the same headlight but down the the horn.
it should make more power I guess you'r not lowering compression. Anyway standard is 82.7 and yours is 83?
Better someone with experience with this answer :)
