Mines done it from new, now has 36,000 miles on it and still does it. Heard it is very common on 172s.

Planning on changing my 172 in March 2005. Seriously considering the renaultSport Megane. Hopefully by then there should be some good deals going around like there are currently for the Clio 182. Also, by waiting for a year I can see how people get on with the reliability etc. Chris.

Just booked my Mk2 172 in for its 36k service. Was quoted £300 which I didnt think was too bad. Asked how much the 72k service was (cambelt change) and was told £900! ouch. Chris.

On my Mk2 172 I have found recently that my washer bottle fluid level has been dropping fairly quickly. I noticed today that the N/S headlight washer apears to be leaking as there was a pool of water below it. Has anybody else had this problem and if so what was the fix? Thanks, Chris.

They replaced the centre section for free under warranty when my car was 18 months old with 25,000 miles on the clock.
