Did my first ring laps on a trackday on the 14th.
Best lap was my 6th lap a 9:16 that had rain, traffic and roadworks. Had a tussel with a 550bhp Monaro for the second half of the lap.
Data says best lap would have been a 9:03, sub 9 mins is easily achievable.
I was there for the trackday on the 14h. You'd probably left by the time we arrived. Only had time for 1 lap on Sunday before they closed early for the world cup.
Had the 182 on the dyno with the east mids lads and got a bit of a suspect result:
Temp prob was placed behind the passenger headlight by the air filter. Is there anything with the dyno setup that could cause the result to be so high? The RPM syncing seems fine. The other cars got pretty...
Cheers for the input tony.
Craners flat consistently requires more balls than I had that day!
I felt copice that lap was poor hence the gay hand waving.
I did find myself having to steer to the edge of the track at times, I'm usually quite conservative on exits.
Pat- as Mick says it's...
Eibachs with standard dampers running very worn (now in the bin) 888's. Rear anti-roll bar/PM top mounts and brace. 2.2 degrees front camber (max on bolts).
Engine wise nothing that will make it go significantly faster!
I'm after some advice from those that know Donington well ( @Tony Hunter @Jay Payne @Big Ash @MicKPM 2Damnsly Andy ) and anyone else on where I can find some time. I did 3 laps in a row within a second of the one below so I'm thinking I reached my limit.
Theres a few places I feel I could be...
You could argue that given almost all road cars generate lift you will get to a point where it gets easier to lock up the bigger the speed, but I won't because I suspect the speed required would be many hundreds of miles per hour.
The answer you're fishing for is that they're the same given the tyre is the limiting factor. You could argue that the 4 pots will allow you to get closer to the threshold without activating the abs.
I had the rs tuner launch control for a bit but the rev limit was too high for most conditions anyway. Plus I had to explain at tracks why I couldn't rev it during the noise test.
