I use R1Rs on my 182 road car and we use them for wet weather on the track car (otherwise running slicks). I love them but in dry track work we can cook the R1Rs
I go through stages... I think it's just me getting old. I look at all the Mercs in the car park at work and just think "I wonder what it's like starting a journey knowing you'll finish it..."
Rear right wheel bearing case is broken in two and just smushed together
Rear wheels need new spacers to bring them in 5mm so they stop hitting the arches
Exhaust hangers are f**ked
Need some new wiper blades
I'm currently running toyo R1Rs in 205/50/r15 all round. Absolutely love them to be honest, in some ways I wish I had a bit less grip so I could move the rear around a bit more at sensible speeds. They also look awesome, with a tread width of ~215 on a 7 inch wheel they really bulge out!
Hi gents,
Just hoping to get a quick consensus on a brake failure for a phase 1, the ABS came on and pretty much took away all braking, the pedal vibrated slightly but close to nothing.
I'm planning to check the encoder rings ASAP but I'm away till Friday unfortunately, are the ABS...
Cracking job! When is your first target outing? Keep us updated as I don't know how the brakes are going to hold out on our turbo, how did you find the standard set up?
We've filed the edge of callipers on our uni race cars before, one of our wheels has a nice .2mm groove in it from a bit of interference contact. As you say just monitor it and you'll be fine. I'd probably just put a bit of hight temp paint on edge of the calliper, small blob should do. It...
Make sure you put a gloss coat on it to double check how smooth it is! I made this mistake with my car so I have a couple of small bonnet dents showing through the wrap =(
I know it's been covered before but,
I see loads of Clios with the harnesses going straight down from the seats to the rear seatbelt mounts and it scares the s**t out of me. Formula Student is really lax and our cars wouldn't stand a chance at passing MSA but even we have to be strict on...
It's black on the V5, was wrapped white before I wrapped it grey. It's classed as a temporary change which the V5 has no way of logging unfortunately. I might register it over the summer when I have more time because I have no intention of unwrapping it but we will see.
When it was wrapped white I phone Admiral and asked them if they about wraps, they had no idea what it was so I asked them how much extra it was to change the colour of the car with a sticker and the bloke said they had no mention of car colour on their records.
