MLE16V
You got a duffer mate. Should have inspected it better. I had a valver and did over 100 000 hard miles. LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT.
Perhaps you got my old one.
Unlucky mate.
I think its a bit out of order to brag about staff discounts on here.
And Neil if you can tell me where the f**k I can get a 172 for 13.5k I will probably go buy one but Ive been to many dealers who will hardly budge and the trade price the are offering for my willy is a joke. I am actually...
Ive heard several people on here say that youll void warranty if you dont get it serviced by Renault. I dont know how true this is. When I get my new one Id rather not take it to reno to be honest, is this the case?
Lou is right, the water temp gage only takes a couple of minutes to shoot up in normal weather (non winter) but I think the oil cooler in the valervers and willies prevents the oil warming up very quick. Can take between 10 and 20 minutes of driving, longer if stationary.
Ive noticed the 172...
Lost count but didnt actually own them all. Did nearly 600k over the years as a travelling techie. We had a deal with a lease company whereas it was cheaper to hire the cars for 6k only. Bit of a pain as I had to come in and change my car every 3 to 4 weeks. Got through many, many sierras...
They will only investigate if the car is in a garage, then they treat it as burglary. If its on the street, tey wont bother, had a moby knicked whilst parked in the car park outside Slough police station! in full view.
I can see what the copper was saying, if theyd chucked a brick at it...
I used to have a 900 turbo (pre-Vauhall floor plan, so it handled very well)
0-60 not that brilliant and only 130 top end but they were geared up for the safest overtaking acceleration from 30 to 70 mph, which is when you need it.
At those speeds you could easily overtake in 4th or 5th (was...
Extended warranty with a third party is not worth the paper its written on.
Warranty Holdings are the worst. I had two engines and two gearboxes go on a Saab and they would not pay a penny as they said it was wear and tear as opposed to unexpected mechanical breakdown. Pah
When I quizzed...
Ive shaken Jerry Springers hand.
Not by choice, b******s were pointing a camera at me. As he clasped my hand he said Gee, Im so sweaty how nice. Not sure how this relates but this forum is getting more amusing by the day.
LOL at SoLow, been there and bottled it. Sooo glad I did, Id have...
See if you can get his car tested for a dodgy master brake cylinder. There is no way that should of happened unless he was going sooo fast that he just shat himself or the brakes were faulty and they pulled him lright under hard braking.
Sounds to me like he was driving her car? Would explain...
Thanx guys, its getting more tempting the more I look into it.
The money isnt really a problem, its the principle, like why I wont buy beer from a supermarket - they buy by the lorry load yet my corner shop can sell the same 4 pack £3 cheaper!
We get fleeced in this country.
OH, I expect the standard reno rattless! lol
i heard the centre pipe one is a bit annoying though.
Has the airbag prob been sorted? Ive heard of a couple going off for no reason at all
......got the dreaded 4K rattle on their exhaust?
Just wondering as Im trying to justify getting a 172 from a dealer when I could save a few quid and the difference (from what Ive read on here) is non-uk cars only have 1 silencer? (and people complain the standard exhaust isnt gruff enough)...
I would recommend you read the magizine article on this very website, 172 v Integra Type R v Racing Puma.
On track the Puma was quickest, but maybe there wasnt many straight bits.
I had around 40 producers when I was about seventeen, but I was a cheeky little sod.
I learned to treat then as youd like to be treated and havent had a producer for about 10 years! Maybe there is a connection.
And Id like to see the evidence that 95.5% are stupid. Bit of a stupid thing to...
If you get it repaired the insurance company pays and you dont get stung for 50/60 quid excess.
In the past Ive driven over 50k in a car with a huge crack, I believe the original windscrean is much tougher as whenever Ive had to repace it they have never lasted as long. Just my opinion though...
Only joking, but I did chase one onto the M25 friday night J25. I wound down both windows so I could hear it.
He must have only been using less than half his/her revs because I was able the keep behind it upto 90 when he/she backed off and I flew passed.
Thing is I was hitting the limitter...
