Oh I just assumed that the oil dripped down and happened to collect at the selector area - makes sense that its actually leaking from there!
Are the driveshaft seals an easy remove and replace job?
You won't regret a remap. Maybe consider a sports cat downpipe too. It made mine sound that bit more angry and exciting, even when wafting along in comfort.
I ended up removing the whole spider assembly. As I then had the mount out I just put it in a vice and went to town with a hacksaw and stanley knife. When I could get a grip on the metal part it was easy to loosen off the splines. Had a nightmare getting everything to line up when putting it...
Fitted solid gearbox mount but my god what a pain in the arse. Ran out of light too so ended up holding a torch in my mouth. Not a fun few hours but it's done. I think renault have a fetish for over complicating things and putting bolts in impossible to reach places!
Epic thread revival but does anyone have any tips on how to seperate these two parts before I go at it? I really don't want to damage the big bolt. Thanks!
I wouldn't bother adding something else that can potentially go wrong and fail an MOT (like mine did). I wish it was easy for me to revert to non xenons but it's not :(
Are you saying that a SC would need less fixing over time than a turbo or are you just refering to clios in general?
I don't know about the OP but it's not my daily so reliability would be nice but not essential (or expected lol)
Well I had pretty much decided on sticking with just a remap for this years track days and save up for a low boost turbo setup early next year all being well. Always assumed a turbo was the 'best' way to go as so few people went with supercharging.
I paid £1600 for a set of 18" chrome alloys when I was about 20, they wen't on a corsa SXI (baller) that wasn't worth much more.
Massively regretted it a few years later when I was older and slighty wiser.
Take from that what you will :)
I do really like the 2118s. The white on blue works really well too, reminds me of an indigo blue 106 GTi I lusted after yearsssss ago.
Thanks for the link I'll check em out (y)
