two methods, the proper longer way of taking the shaft out, or the easy slide on boot, depends what they do. unfortunately can't give you the book times for either, so consider this a free bump :)
i'm a fan of both. white is in-yer-face rally racer, anthracite is understated and cool. but silver looks good too, and it's cheaper, so it's staying on mine :)
if you've not changed it in a few years it's probably worth giving it some love.
as for which oil, i was sure i was going to use 75/80 until both fred and agency transmissions (who rebuilt my box) said 75/90, so i've been using that for the last couple months. no problems.
i wouldn't take...

Not seen one before, looks nice, except for the wheels :dead:
i meant held on full lock. the whine you get when held on full lock, does it sound the same when turning? i think either way it would be the pump that needs replacing, or you can live with it. if you replace the pump, you have to replace the aux belt too.
turns out i will need the new ngk spark plugs, whoever fitted the last set used bosch.
annnnnnd....... spark plug 1 was loose! and # 3 needed a couple of degrees to tighten it properly. and the nib on top of # 1 had almost unscrewed completely. lovely.
but at least the tappings gone...
i just ordered some titan pro s (extra 15% off ends at midnight)
i ordered two 5 litre bottles and some spark plugs for £112
not sure if i need the plugs, not checked them since i bought car last july, but at worst i can flog them and still have 2 bottles of oil for £80.
got a genuine renault...
core plugs dont have anything holding them in, they are just pressed in and need to be drilled or hammered out, or burned out not heard that one before but then i've only ever changed one core plug

when you start it, put it on full lock for a couple of seconds (no longer) and listen.
a normal steering pump will be quiet with the steering relaxed, and whine when on full lock.
my guess is that yours whines with the steering relaxed, and when you put it on full lock, it will sound no...
it's driveshaft :)
drivers shaft, sounds like what renault are doing to this chap at the moment http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?569627-RenSport-Clio-200-Dealer-says-THIS-is-normal...
my issue looks like the steering rack bushes, jms had a look and you could see a shiny patch on the rack where it was moving side to side under the bush. new rack bushes/clamps, new arb inner and outer bushes ready to go on tomorrow, will let you know if all is solved. i got standard arb bushes...
funny you talk about breaking down the price. i've priced up 4x 5litre bottles for £157 delivered, about £39 a bottle. just need to find 3 other people who live in farnborough now
it takes it speedo reading off the abs sensors. when i had to replace my gearbox recently i needed to get a phase 1 gearbox or a cup gearbox, as they are the only ones that take a speedo reading off the gearbox. as yours is a 2002 i presume its a phase 2 and therefore doesn't have a gearbox...
do you mean in relation to front and back of gearbox. or side to side. forgive me, trying to help but not been asked this before. prob worth mentioning that only the ph2 cup has a speed sensor on the gearbox, the regular flavour 172 gets its speed data from the abs
i removed my pas rack for a dci rack recently, and refitted the pas rack the following day. absolutely hated it. it felt quicker without the pas pump, picked up quicker and seem to rev more freely, but it was too much hard work to drive. it actually felt like driving a car that just had broken...
