Hydraulic press needed to remove stock dogbone mounts?

i drilled holes in the bush then sawed that big metal ring a little bit. and that's something to bear in mind. there's a bit metal sleeve that looks like it should stay in place but it has to come out. this is what it should end up like: linky

Difference In ET Speedline Turinis To 172 Cup Turninis

cheers. i've been looking at pictures of wheel offset and i just can't grasp it for some reason. i'll just think smaller = wider, thats easier.

Difference In ET Speedline Turinis To 172 Cup Turninis

cheers, bit confused now though. given that the trophy wheels are et45 and cups are et38, i'm right in thinking then that the trophys stick further out than the cup alloys. i've read that the non-cup clios have an offset of 36. i'm told the offset gives the cup its wider track, but 36 v 38 is...

    Unstable front end... any ideas?

unfortunately the other end to you! farnborough, on the surrey/berks/hants border. mine doesn't sound as bad as yours, my probs sound more like imprezaworks. it's pretty straight most of the time, sometimes pulls when braking approaching t junctions on worn roads (which could be tracking). the...

    Unstable front end... any ideas?

sounds like mine. would it do it all the time or just when you were braking to a stop on a worn out road? mine seems to follow the camber on worn out roads when im braking. most things on the front are new, apart from wishbone bushes, top mounts, shocks and tyres. i replaced the steering...

    changing upper gearbox mount

didnt realise you had a 182 :o ignore the cat comment. with the engine cold, stick your hand down the back of the engine and try and get a finger between the manifold and the small heatshield, bet you can't! that's how close it is. knocking on low revs.... i'd associate that with driveshaft/cv...

Any performance advantage from using a silicone elbow on a Ph1/V6 airbox?

dunno i still think sarcasm related to the silicone. 7bhp from spending upwards of £500, when you put it in figures it doesn't seem worth it. but then, it'll be a whole lot nicer to drive. nothing better than putting your foot down and getting a kick. plus i can sell most bits if i get rid...

false economy? i've only ever heard of not reusing aux belts on this forum, though i suspect with good reason

Any performance advantage from using a silicone elbow on a Ph1/V6 airbox?

cool. but where do you stop :) the differences between a decent flat panel filter in the std box and the v6 airbox are arguably neglible. appreciate all the comments. probably saved myself £22

Any performance advantage from using a silicone elbow on a Ph1/V6 airbox?

just from a silicone bend? awesome, if i buy four of them will it get me over 200bhp ;) obviously not expecting anything from just the hose, but the whole increasing the airflow thing lends itself to the idea of a silicone bend. or maybe a straight one with the battery in the boot and the ecu...

    K-TEC Stage 1 Tuning Offer

If you just want better idle and smoother driving, stick with the cheaper rstuner option. myself i'm planning on a couple of mods so will at least go with a custom map, or even the jms map. i don't know if the jms map is individually customised from henk or if its a standard map set up for their...

    K-TEC Stage 1 Tuning Offer

the ktec remap should be better as its live mapping. theres different types of maps for the rstuner. the standard performance map which should be better than standard oem map, and a custom map where you send info off to fastchip and they create a custom map. henk does a good job, but i dont know...

 sorry mate, but lmfao. all the scepticism that ktec faced earlier in the thread, they've come out and put their money where their mouth is and should be applauded, not accused of this s**t. baby jesus christ and the orphans. anyway, peace

    changing upper gearbox mount

if its doing it on normal pulling away revs then something is likely loose, i'd check the bottom nut on the upper gearbox mount (nut accessible from the wheel arch) it has been known to work itself loose. if its doing it on high revs, then loosen the four chassis-side bolts on the engine mount...

Any performance advantage from using a silicone elbow on a Ph1/V6 airbox?

But if the whole idea of fitting matched inlets, decat, air filter etc is to promote airflow, then would a silicone hose not be a good mod? I want it to be cosmetic only cause its one less thing to buy, but you could link the silicone hose philosophy to matched inlets- the original is rough, the...

    £70

actually, just remembered i've got an obd thingy that gives me, amongst other things, mpg at 1 second intervals along my journey, related to speed, throttle position, etc. whether this is accurate or not i don't know, but i can accurately measure my distance at least, that's gps based :)

    £70

i'll measure mine. i know it went from 34 on the computer to 40 on the same journey after the lambda change. actually i won't measure it, it'll only make me sad. i'm happy in the ignorant knowledge that i dont have to chop it in for a diesel.
