Where can I get a roll of alcantara

Sounds cool, just like an Aston. When you say leather door cards do you mean just the cards or wold you get the whole door fitting trimmed. Would look cool with the fitting one colour and the card another. What about aluminium handles? I know a guy who does the leather trimming on Mercs...

Where can I get a roll of alcantara

Nick, When you say complete retrim, what exactly is complete? To the level that people like Aston Martin do, cover absolutly everything in it?

    I WANT A TURBO!

True a supercharger gives a much better response if not the ultimate power a turbo can deliver, not sure a bout 50% and 100% intercooled though, bit optimistic I think, but then it does vary between engines. At the end of the day they both do the same job, ram air into the engine under pressure...

    Huge backfire

I can see your point about 200bhp being enough for on the road, but 300bhp on the road would be useful at times for accelerating from say 50 to 140, would be good against Porsches and big Mecs. 350bhp would only be any use on the strip, but seeing as you dont need a progressive system you...

    Huge backfire

Why only 50bhp when you can build a mad 200+bhp motor AND put 100bhp of N2O on it? And depending on how you map it, you put put on extra 50bhp on top at high rpm, 350bhp would be pretty cool, but would the lump/gearbox take it?
  10. P

    Huge backfire

So youd need an extra feul solenoid too. You could set up the second pair with an RPM window switch, would be a good idea to find out when the map stops advancing first though.

    Huge backfire

Ben, Am I right in thinking the Emerald M3D EMS has the option of moding the ignition maps when you on gas? So you could program in the correct amount of r****d, etc. As for pumpong in more N2O, why get more solenoids, just get some bigger jets. Be warned though, dont wanna melt your pistons...

    Bent Subframe....D’OH!!!!!!!!!!

Well some good news, its just the subframe and my parents are gonna pay for the repairs for my 21st (they think I was driving). On the Nova front its a 1.2 Fun and I hate to say it but I think its really good for a 1.2. Me and the guy I go road rallying with went for a burn down some country...

    Bent Subframe....D’OH!!!!!!!!!!

This morning I let my former best mate have a go in my Valver, just a quick blast round the block and as fate would have it, he stuffed it into a f**k off big kerb and bent the front LHS subframe. Lucky for him it wasnt really his fault (diesel on road and getting cut up by some t**t in a Nova)...

    Huge backfire

Nick, I doubt it runs full advance at WOT regardless of revs this would mean if you floored it at 1500rpm youd be running something like 66 degrees of advance, pinking and detonation would be pretty bad. I suspect it just runs are more agressive advance curve if that makes sense, ie removing...

    2.0l Rebuild.....FAO Nick

Nick, Just thought Id list what Im planning to due to the lump Im rebuilding if you wanted some insperation. Im starting with a 1.8l block as theyre easy to come by and if you wanted you could get away with not telling the DVLA youve changed capacity, just the engine number. Get block...

    Huge backfire

Yep, sounds about it Nick. Though Im not sure it the N2O/Feul mix in the manifold would have lit, dont think the pressure/heat would have been high enough to break the N2O down, but either way its the same end resault. Id go with rebuilding it as a 2.0l, get the pistons from Renault, a crank...

BBPT Turbo 16v Update & Nick Reads 16v!

Yeah, but 4WD equals muchos grandos amounts of acceleration. Dunno, depends if we decided to keep it as a track car, or a 1/4mile nutter, either way your right, the engine would need some head work and cams, you volentering? ;) And a quick dollop of NOS too, 600bhp/ton anyone?

BBPT Turbo 16v Update & Nick Reads 16v!

Ben, Niether mate, doing a Locost as par Ron Champions book. Me and a mate of mine who works at a metal fabricators are doing the chassis and engine/drivetrain. Should be able to source most of the steel for next to nowt, seamless tubing is gonna be a problem though, if anyones got a cheap...

So detonation cuased by the bogging down on NOS killed all the pistons, s**t son, thats ill!

OK, I mistaken, I thought N2O supressed detonation because of the extra nitrogen, learnt something new ;) I just meant the belt could have snapped and it was just a fluke that it happened to snap when the inlets where open, so theyd stay open. If one cylinder was leaning and then detonating...
  27. P

    Huge backfire

Nick did the cam belt survive? If the huge increase in torque had snapped it then the inlets could well have been open when it fired, just an idea. I dont think detonation could have happened when your on N2O, as when it breakes down nitrogen is realesed which is a great at supressing...

    Huge backfire

Yeah I think M.C. has got it. Never a good idea to use NOS on a RR unless you got a long build up time, NOS hates being held back and the RR was doing just that, if you where bogged down to 2500 then your poor engine would be making approx. 320 ft/lb of torque on 100bhp jets, somethings gonna give.

Converting from 1.8 to 2.0 bottom end

Nick, The cams are not designed to go with the blocks as there is no change in where the pistons are at TDC, in the F7 engines at TDC the pistons are flush with the top of the block, in the F7R to overcome the 10mm longer stroke the pistons have a 5mm smaller pin to crown hieght. Higher...
