i dont know what area this thread would go in so i put it in general chat
Anyway i took my car in for its mot on saturday (which it failed on a couple of points but it is a 1.2 clio with 113k on the clock and isnt sounding the healthiest tbh). so i thought ok itll cost about £100 to get it...
Any ideas on how to do it???
Ive heard some people get a pressure washer in and give it a hose down and others just use pure elbow grease (the last option isnt a option as my engine bay is plastered in crap!)
what do you guys do to wash them? would you advise using a pressure washer on it...
basically i drove to college this morning (absolutely pissing it down btw. roads nearly flooded etc) and parked up and locked up as usual
when i went back to it at lunch i went to click it open and it was already unlocked......i didnt see the hazards flash or here a clunk, so i thought ok ill...
Dont know if this has been found out before but i was just messing about with gf's car (a ph2 1.2 clio) and as i had my clio keys in my pocket, i thought i would try and open the fuel cap with it........and it opened with ease. the gf tried it on my car and it did the same.

Today me and the missus went shopping around worcester.
all was going fine until we got back into the car and the bloody thing wouldnt start after 6-7 attempts of starting it.
so anyway we decided that it has finally had it and decided to call out the aa.

ok so at the moment i have a w reg 1.2 clio and im bidding on some alloys on the bay that are 175 65 13.
the only thing is that my current wheels are 165 65 14
how will this affect the car in any way?
(renault alloys off a clio s or rsi i think but its a s reg)

i think they came off a mk1 but are they suitable for a mk2 ph1?

but only seems to be in the winter / in the warmer weather. in the freezing winter months it started in seconds but now itll take about 5 - 10 seconds of the starter going to fire it up.
also, i pulled away today in 1st gear then a couple of seconds after i changed into second it...

also how much would it cost to be done at a garage? (i dont have the tools or the knowledge to even contemplate doing it)
basically ive been given some sony 6x9 speakers (pair of) but the only problem is theyve been up in the loft for a good year and probably been beaten around abit.

as above squirts nothing and makes no noise. even had a go at taking the pipe off and seeing if there was a blockage but they all blow clear and the fuse (if its off the same circuit as the windscreen wipers) is fine.
is there anything else i need to look for before i try the ballache of...
