    The Petrol Blue Project continued

Lovely work mate 👌 Scuttle area is the next job to do on mine. Made a start on my arch liners this weekend, but seemed a real struggle trying to remove the front ones (all clips are off) so I left it and will tackle again this weekend. Were yours hard to remove? And what coating are you using?

Anybody know what these fasteners are called?

Removed the rear bumper from my 182. On the inside of the bumper, the polystyrene parts are held on with some small metal fasteners. Mine turned to dust as soon as I touched them, so would like to replace. Pic below - what are they called? Thanks!

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

I actually really like the colour matched bullets. All I would say is that I think the raised 2.0 16v lettering would be better in anthracite to match the wheels, and breaks it up a little.

    Ash’s Clio 182 Trophy

Thanks mate. New fuse box and cover made a huge difference, more than the photos suggest. Here you go... https://www.renaultpartsdirect.co.uk/parts/engine-parts/renault-oil-filler-cap-8200062947/

    Ash’s Clio 182 Trophy

And then today I finally got round to continuing with fitting all the engine components. Eventually got the lower inlet off (very tight fit!) and swapped over for the new one straight away… I then set about fitting all the rest of the parts (no in between pics) and this was the end result…...

    Ash’s Clio 182 Trophy

The pics with the fuse box above shows the new battery terminal too. Couple of additional pictures… Decided to then have a clean behind both headlights whilst they were out. No before pics, but these are after cleaning. Honestly is so much cleaner than it was! It was then time to get...

    Ash’s Clio 182 Trophy

    197/200 Brembos on 182 with 280mm Discs

Assume these are no good/won't work with 280mm discs? https://50cnc.com/product/brembo-calipers-brackets-for-clio-172182/

    197/200 Brembos on 182 with 280mm Discs

Appreciate the reply. Typical you sold the last pair recently! Not in any immediate rush for brackets so couple of weeks would be fine. What was the material you previously made them from? Also steel?

    197/200 Brembos on 182 with 280mm Discs

Looking into possibility of running 197/200 Brembo's on the 182. I would be using 280mm discs, and running 15" 2118's, so understand I need 5mm machining off mounting face. I will also be running some spacers. Re pads, I assume just use 197/200 pads in brand/compound of choice. As for brake...

    Rear bumper M10 bolts

@MLB how many of these bolts are there? 2 or 4? Going to order some myself in readiness for when I clean behind the rear bumper. Thanks!

    Removing Lower Inlet on 182??

Thanks mate, appreciated. Should help when I next get round to looking at it (y)

    Removing Lower Inlet on 182??

Thanks for the reply. Yep I’ve got all the bolts along the front into the head off; 4 of them? But it looks like there might be another a bit harder to get to, slightly offset (the other 4 are all in line with each other) which looks to hold the alternator bracket to the inlet/head? Seen the...

Yep managed to sort it guys. Thank you.

    Removing Lower Inlet on 182??

So, today I made a start on the job of swapping over my inlets (have a painted set to go on). Upper inlet easy to remove. Started tackling the lower inlet. Got most of the bolts off now, but still can’t get the inlet off. I also have a engine mount bracket which has been painted; wasn’t able...

    Removing headlight level motors?

In the middle of swapping headlight housings over. How do you remove the headlight level motors? Don’t want to break them!

    Ash’s Clio 182 Trophy

Thanks mate :) Appreciate the comments Tim :) Got them from Autostyle. If you ring them and say you want mats for a Clio Trophy with the Trophy logo and number, they will know what you mean. You can customise them with any colour etc. Not sure if they will be open at the moment obviously...

    Ash’s Clio 182 Trophy

Finally, to finish off the interior, binned the horrible mats that were in the car, and fitted my new custom ones! Old… And new… And just some photos of how the interior is now looking after all the jobs from last couple of days (ignore the fact the upper dash is not fitted, waiting for...

    Ash’s Clio 182 Trophy

Finally, the fruits of today’s labours. Last weekend, I got round to fitting the lowered seat adapter onto the passenger side Recaro (details above). So I set about doing the same to the driver side today. I actually ended up taking both seats back out, because when I was doing the passenger...

    Ash’s Clio 182 Trophy

Next up, headlights! I recently bought a pair of brand new black insert Hella headlights (halogen not xenon) to replace the grey ones on the car. Mine are actually in great condition, just prefer the black ones. I bought both headlights separately – after a bit of an eBay search, stumbled upon...

    Ash’s Clio 182 Trophy

Bit of an update from the last few days… First up, changing the clock/dials surround. Never been a particularly big fan of the silver surround/bezel. Found some dials from a Dci going cheap, which come with a matt black surround instead of silver. Here they are… Set about stripping these...

    Warning Light an MOT fail?

Thanks for the reply Marc. I changed the brake light switch yesterday as it was only £15 for a genuine one and worth a go. Hasn't changed anything though. I would say my brake lights seem to come on too late though, so will have another look at adjusting the switch to see if I can get them on...

    Which driveshafts for 182?

Thanks for replies. I opted for one of the genuine ones through K-Tec for one side, although because they are closing end of this week, and their Renault dealer has already closed, I don’t quite know when I’ll receive it. The other side I opted for the GKN one from Euros, general consensus is...

    Warning Light an MOT fail?

Quick question guys. My MOT expires in just over a month. Going to try and book it in within next week while I can and MOT’s still taking place. I’ve had warning lights come on last few weeks (ABS, Serv, Traction). They go out when turn car off but will come on again. Likely an ABS ring...

Unimpressed by 182, what do you love about it?

Definitely drive a few before making your mind up. I had my first 182 about 5-6 years ago and I remember the test drive very well. Probably helped that the dealer let me go out in the car on my own, so I could put it through it's paces. It was also a lower mileage example, with new belts and...

    Ash’s Clio 182 Trophy

And then onto today’s job. I bought some Jon Foz lowered Recaro adapters just before I actually purchased the Trophy! No pictures of the adapters, but made a start on fitting them. Got the car on axle stands so I could get to all the bolts underneath... Before picture from the boot...

    Ash’s Clio 182 Trophy

Few weeks back, I got hold of a Sabelt steering wheel... ...and then sent it off to Royal Steering Wheels to be retrimmed in alcantara with red stitching. Arrived a week or two ago... Also had my steering wheel boss arrived from K-Tec, and managed to source a brand new Ph1 indicator stalk...

    Ash’s Clio 182 Trophy

So a little bit of an update on the Trophy. Bought a seat cover for the driver’s side. Normally only me in the car if I take it out, but am thinking of getting another for the passenger side. Also bought an outdoor cover from Classic Additions. Instead of getting one tailor made for the...
