Just driven home and its freezing cold, get out the car to hear a hiss from one of the back tyres and yes it has a bloody big screw in it. The boot is full of tools and work stuff so decided to leave it till the morning which I know I will regret as I am working at 10 am. Ah well:(
Not quite sure where these stats you quote prove that the majority of bikers are just plain stupid and would be interested to hear how you draw this very generalistic view.
Having served my time in a main dealership years ago I saw what went on with "an oily rag and a stamp" I have little faith in a service history and would make my own mind up examining the vehicle. That said if I were buying, It could be used to knock a few quid of the asking price.
Wow, they will be for sale for a while. I have my one owner 53 plate 172 55,000miles in for 3500 ono for 5 days in autotrader and all I have had is chancers from Nigeria!
Now the good weather has arrived I use the bike now more than the car so its time for it to go. I dont have much time and cant be bothered spending hours cleaning, waxing etc and was considering paying someone to do it and wonder whether anyone has used anyone local to Glasgow that they would...
Yet again one of the rear dampers on my 172 have pissed their oil content out and failed the mot and I aint giving Renault yet another £100 for replacements.
Has anyone used any other make other than O.E. ones that they have found ok?
I have 205s on mine because I fitted the 182 wheels as the standard 172 ones looked ....well gash and to be honest the car handled far better with the 195s.
Its the original, so six years old but I have experienced no problems starting or running and given the very cold winter a weak battery would have given up the ghost.
As above really, the mpg and log etc randomly reset upon start up now as I got a shock when I flicked through and read 11.5 mpg.
Have I inadvertantly done something that defaults it to this?
This thread has just reminded me I have a set of CVH twin 40s in the garage so I had a quick look on e bay and they seem to go for more than I imagined. Result.
I usually buy the Halfords 5w 30 for oil changes on the Clio as its usually on special offer of some sort but note that its £35 with no free screwdrivers etc etc and was wondering if anyone has bought fully synthetic oil recently at a good price anywhere else?
Believe it or not I found Quick fit the cheapest for Exaltos as I got 2 fitted for £200 on 205/45/16. Check their site for 4 as they are doing special on them.
Mine did this, althought there was not much noise and it was the alternator. The burning smell was very strong and the unit got too hot to touch. Simply bought a second hand unit for £40, easy job.
What is the difference between the michelin pilot exalto and the exalto 2 if any?
The reason I ask is that I have just had two PE2s fitted by quickfit and they just say pilot exalto on the sidewall and not exalto 2.
They are £343 new minus 5% for club members, but the warranty aint transferable and its a second hand exhaust.
I have seen them go for shade over £200 on e bay.
