Just been for a drive through sunny ponte to the harrats renault garage. Spotted a silver 172 a couple of cars behind me, turned off in the centre as I carried on the main road towards harrats.
Anyone on here?
thanks fella's.
That just leaves the airbag and unstable idle/engine hesitation. Anyone know about these?
Also heard something about a wipers recall?? :S
Hi, I got my 182 in april this year and since then heard about the bonnet catch recall. I had this replaced at Evans Halshaw Renault in Doncaster. However I've had a look on the VOSA site for any more recalls related to the 182 but all it says for most is 'Clio' :(
Could anyone please advise...
Spotted all three heading northbound on the M1 friday afternoon about 5:15 - 6:00 somewhere between the junctions of 31 and 28. I was heading south and spotted all three bombing past the other way. Blue V6 looked
My rears lasted 62k miles, 4 & 4 months.
But i got it at 56k miles so thats me guessing previous owners never replaced them :rasp: They were falling apart.
So I'm looking for a black round rubber piece on the ARB which attaches to the bottom arm of the wishbone frame. If its cracked or generally looks shabby, its time for a replacement.
Where are the anti roll bar bushes located? Can you see them when you stick your noggin under the bumper?
How can you tell they are degraded enough to replace? Sorry for noob questions but I've no idea where they are or what they are supposed to look like.
Henry, by top mounts do you mean the suspension rubber top mounts?
As for the engine mounts - is it really worth it unless the standard ones are knackered? I've heard that the k-tec ones are good at speed but sh!te at idle and crawling speeds :S
Thats the thing, I didn't want one that had to be cut and messed about with. I want one thats specifically for 1*2's. Does anywhere else beside K-tec manufacturer and/or supply 1*2 splitters?
I'm missing a front splitter on my cup packed 182. Didn't have one when I bought it. I don't plan on paying renault £140+ for them to bend me over and spank me with a cheapo piece of plastic. But i'm not sure if i'm a fan of the cheaper carbon fibre one from ktec either. So i'm just curious who...
Are the anti roll bar bushes something you can replace yourself? Or is it garage work?
Bearing in mind i have the automotive technical knowledge and skills of a hamster and the tool handling ability of a tetraplegic.
Here goes ...
uncomfortable seats with poor lumbar and shoulder support, routemaster steering wheel, steering wheel melts, steering wheel has no reach adjustment so you practically gotta sit on the thing to use it, everything made of plastic rattles, erratic idle and jumpy drive from cold...
I would like to know, sorry to barge in on your thread here, if its actually worth it and a noticeable improvement replacing the anti roll bar and front wishbone bushes?
I have a 54 plate standard 182 with 63k miles. Is it worth spending £100 on bushes?? :S
Well it's now added to the list of things I want for the wee pocket rocket :D
But its a long list thats taking a long time. Had the car six months and had to pay £550 for service, fluids change and belts, £140 for recovery and new tyre after my brand new T1R exloded in middle of the cumbria...
Thanks murcod, much appreciated!
So its safe to say including air, valve, balancing weights your talking about 18.5Kg of weight on each corner of my car. A lot!
Would you really notice a difference if I changed to 16" speedlines for example?
Sorry to sound like a complete noob and tit in one here :o but whats involved in removing and refitting the inlets and fuel guard? Any gaskets need replacing, greasing or anything? never removed anything bar an air filter from the engine bay before and have the automotive technical knowledge of...
Sorry, ignore me. With rushing on and offline at work i thought you meant all four wheels! :o
anyways, so a 205/45/16 tyre approximately weighs 8.5Kg plus alloy at about 7.5Kg equals about 16Kg a corner. Quite hefty
I've had a search for this but can't find anything.
Does anyone know the weight of a standard 16" 182 anthracite alloy without tyre, valve etc. I keep being told completely different weights that vary by about 5kg!
Any help would be much appreciated, want to compare it to lower weight...
Stunning car and engine bay. A lot of time and effort well spent. After seeing that I'm considering getting my engine bay machine polished now. Damn you! :rasp:
If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost in total for the upper inlets, intake plenum and fuel guard to be done?
