So it does work then after all! Reckoned you had to virtually try and stack the car to get it kickin in! LOL So apart from flashing the triangle on you inst cluster did it apply the brakes/abs/make noises or just cut the power .... or both?
Hi Paul, yep that one looks better, only problem is that product is now discontinued. Another possibility is one from RS Components .....
Part No: 427-477 @ £9-20 +VAT & del...
Rhys mate .... how do you plan on getting the remote sensor from the Maplin model inside your throttle body? Looks to me like the remote bit is a box with batteries and not a small temp sensor probe on the end of a wire.. Im keen to set a temp sensor too as Im soon to design a...
Think you need to get your brakes checked out mate at your dealer. My 1.6 Dynamique brakes just about put you through the windscreen! In normal town driving they are even sharper than the 172 probably due to the brake assist and extra servo assistance.
Cuppy: The struts on the front are standard. CD -40mm springs only. It is pretty low at the front now so have to reverse into parking spaces to avoid the kerbs! Ive measured the arch hieghts against a standard 172 and exactly 40 mm down front and back, so still has the necessary tail high...
Mid range feels a bit better. Ive got a K&N IK also so really need it chipped now to get the full benefit. Havent lost any low end grunt though which is common with performance exhausts. Not a great fan of lexus lights Im afraid .... in fact Ive changed my rears to MK1 :o. Think the best quality...
Probably looks quite low as Ive got a 40mm drop in my suspension. If its closer to the rear valence it will probably knock against the bumper over bumps. The rear exhaust mounts on the 172 are quite soft (diecast thingy with rubber star type internal support)
Thats a good price. I paid £329 + 1 hrs labour at my local performance centre .... about £360 all in. If you fill in the gaurentee card you will get a certificate of lifetime warranty from Magnex
mpg is about the same (low 30s). In town at around 30 you can hardly hear its there but open it up and it gets quite manic! BTW its a Magnex 2x3.5" listed to fit to Clios up to Jan 2001. Fitted perfectly on my Aug 2002 MK2. Others on the forum have fitted this to MK2 Clio 172 without problems so...

Magnex is a lot more civilised arond town, bearable on the motorway but sounds good when above 4/5K. was originally going to go for the oval but it looks...
If you are lucky (or unlucky!) and hear the ticking noise again when its dark, turn out your lights and lift the bonnet and have a look, you may just see the problem where its arcing........... asuming this is the problem of course! Check out also the ignition coil, distriutor cap and rotor arm...
Reno handbook actually says 33 psi front and 30 psi rear for normal use and 36 psi front and 32 psi rear for motorway use. Most of my driving is not quite normal around A/B class roads and I dont do a lot of motorways so 33 psi front and rear seems a good compromise to me and easier to...
Rockport, does the horn actually make a noise before the fuse blows? Could be a faulty horn (short circuit) or the positive feed to the horn is shorting to earth somewhere. May even be a fault with the horn switch on the s/wheel? Assume the horn fitted is standard?
16V Clio, your problem...
The clicking noise could be an HT lead or something in the HT circuit arcing over to earth as you say it varies with rpm. Would also explain the stalling and failure to start (probably flooded cylinders) ..... just a thought. May be something completely different? Neil
nice one m8 .... although it will probably entice Saxos rather than ward them off!! hehe!
So come on then spill the beans ..... where do you get the chrome letters? Reason I ask is that Ive ditched all the badges on the back of mine and just have the SPORT badge over where the clio was ...
AVO Chassis Dynamics -40mm. Greatly reduced the roll on corners and much more stable at speed (currently using standard 16" with Contis). Only disadvange is that it "crashes" a bit more over holes that stretch accross the road. But that is expected. Think this is the max realistic drop for the...
Another possibility is to get the Fog Lamp Kit from Reno (p/n 77 11 218 286). I would image that would have all the wiring, connectors, fuses etc required to do the job. May work out a bit more expensive though. I would image the main wiring looms in the Clio will be pretty standard throughout...
Put the spanner/socket on and give it a good sharp dunt with your hand to shock the nut loose or use an air powered ratchet similar to what they use at tyre centres.
