    Best Back Box 4 Mk2 172

Magnex twin 3.5" CAT back + MK2 172 = "peaches and cream" ...... lurrrrvly! Like Robby, I initially had problems with the exhaust fouling the rear suspension beam under acceleration (with -40mm springs). Dealer moved the system forward about 10mm and since has been fine. A bit expensive but good...

    Oil Oil Oil Oil!!!!!

Costco is where I get my Mobii 1. I generally change the oil and manufacturers filter evry 3K miles on my cars. Ok its about £30 a shot .. but cheap insurance when you cane the sh*t out of your cars IMHO ... equivalent to about a tank of petrol. How many tanks of petrol do you use between...

    K-Tec Rear Spoiler

Hi Mr demon. Thanks for the pictures. Your Clio looks mean as fook mate! Reminds me of the old Tickford conversions where any shiny bits were blackened. The Utopia is nice when you see it on your car. Think I may just be sold on it now ...... but without the LED repeaters! Cheers, Neil

    K-Tec Rear Spoiler

Thanks for all the opinions so far guys;) ....... hhmmmm ..... not looking too good then? The Utopia is nice too and as you have suggested matches the curvy lines of the Clio better. But would have to get rid of these LED repeaters and fill in the holes im afraid (PaintShop picture below)...

    K-Tec Rear Spoiler

Has anyone fitted a K-Tec Koncept rear spoiler as shown below to their MK2 / 172? I think this looks pretty good but not over the top! According to the K-Tec website it fits on top of the existing spoiler and presumably it picks up the two top screw fixings at either side of the tailgate? Your...

    Rattling from sunroof

Ive had problems with MK2 PH1 & 2 sunroofs, They tend to creak over bumpy surfaces when the body flexes (especially during hot weather). Found that the rubber finishing bead covering the sunroof suround/headlining makes the noise (rubbing). Remove it and re-assemle with some vasaline then...

    tree sap

Bird sh*t, especially sea gulls is very corrosive and eats its way though modern acrylic (water-based) laquers. Sea Gulls etc also eat lots of sea food shell stuff and is also very abrasive if you try and rub it off. Always use lots of water and let it soften for a god few minutes before wiping...

    6K oil Chance on Cup

I would have changed oil & filter earlier ~2k with Mobil 1 + Reno filter .... but then thats me! I remember the state of my of my original 172 oil at 1.5K .... yuuuk! £40 is cheap insurance if you are caning your car IMHO!

    1.2 Running In

There is more to all this than just running in the engine. Modern engines are assembled with closer mechanical tolerances so now require much less "running in" to bed in all the cylinder/rings and crank/cam bearings. You must also consider other components like the gearbox, differential, brakes...

Hi Silou, Thanks for the advice. May decide to get new MK1 172 clusters from my local dealer if still readily available or go to scrappy. Otherwise, how much would you be willing to let yours go for inc packing and courier postage to Scotland? Cheers, Neil

    New Car

Good choice of colour Louise. We picked up our Sunburst 1.6 16V Dyn (Wifes car) with cool & style pack about two weeks ago. This colour looks really nice when polished up. Not a very common colour so stands out from all the usual clio colours . Have fun ...? Neil

    i can see the light

Hi Silou, were the rectangular bulb holders/clips and wiring a direct swap between both styles of lights or did you have to do some mods. Reason I ask is I actually prefer the older stye clusters and fancy modding the opposite way to you!!! (trust me to be diferent!!) Perhaps we could do a deal...

    Pics of 172 exhausts

Dont think so since the back box has half the bend over the rear beam .....unless it was cut sleeved and rotated at the front of the rear box?

    Pics of 172 exhausts

Couldnt see any vertical adjustment when I looked underneath. The fixed body mounts locate the exhaust on long horizontal pins to allow for expansion. Perhaps they used a modified mount at the rear?

    Steering Wheel Size.......

Another problem Ive found from past experience is if you fit smaller steering wheels it obscures your instrument dials. If you can adjust the steering position higher to see the dials then fine but it will then be in the wrong position for driving ....if that makes sense! Also as already...
