Hence my question to the OP. If his family had a Trophy from the factory and it was a dream car then it would make much more sense to want a car of the same model. Mint cups, trophys and RB 182s are far more desirable than 197s.

Why a 197 out of interest? If it were me I'd be looking for a lovely 172 cup or racing blue 182.

Yeah that's fair. But most of them probably don't have a clue and haven't even been made aware of the fixed prices. My dealer weren't and had to check it themselves. Or they could have just been lying to me which is also plausable too haha.
