Well today i made my first ever visit to brands hatch and i must say i was really impressed, its a great little circuit and far more interesting to photograph than silverstone.
i would just like to say a big thanks to nick, your circuit guide came in very usefull buddy, cheers.
I hope you like...
good effort buddy, its never easy trying new things, the only thing i will say is that you need to watch the colour balance on a couple of them (like the last one in the first post looks a little on the cold side). As for that good work mate, the first pic reminds me of a need for speed cut...

Im off to brands hatch this weekend for the BMCRC Bike Championships as to be honest im bored of silverstone. just wondering if you guys can give me any advice for the best parts of the circuit to shoot from as i have never been there before. i believe it is going to be only the indy circuit. i...
i got my poles off ebay for £40, (4 x 5ft 1.5" diameter aluminium poles - try searching radio mast) they are fluted at one end meaning you can slot one pole inside the other. i just then drilled a hole through them so i can bolt them together, meaning they wont come apart when my camera is...
just a quick question with the pivot point of your rig, can you actually lock tight in place there or is it just the steel cable that holds it in place
cheers
James
freaking awesome mate, this is stuff i really want to do, i really need to get off my arse and sort out a few niggles with my rig. also have you got a link to where you bought your lights / battery pack mate
great work buddy
some of the pics are by http://dejansokolovski.com/ i would recommend have a quick look at his site if you havent seen his work, he has some fantastic stuff on there.
for those of you who are skint there is an alternative lol
and yes that is a smart car lol and it looks terrible
Re: Second Hand Equipment
Yes you can pick them up for around £150 even though on first launch they were nearer £2000. Therefore the build quality is ace, you get a magnesium body rather than a plastic one. I got one 5 years ago and have still yet to upgrade.
for the price you wont find...
If you are wanting to learn more about automotive photography then this book is ace.

if you dont want entry level then you want the 40d/50d range rather than the 450/500d. For that price you may be lucky and be able to pick up a 5d mk1 off ebay
cheers for the pm.
ive never shot bikes so was interested to see the difference, and going back to what wolf359 it seems you can get away with faster shutters speeds on the pans and still get a good sense of speed.
some of mine i have had to shoot down as low as a 1/60
even this one doesnt...
