the tensioners are crap...so get the whole lot changed at 4 years...

its an OLD thread but... did you ever find out what the knocking noise was...?

yeah i got it from renault... the noise doesnt really sound like its a metal hitting against metal sound...(e.g. bushes hitting each other) it sounds as if something is rotating...and every time it goes around it is hitting the body work/the ground etc...

lol...its now been knocked down to £4,395

a mechanic fitted a new driveshaft last week...and the wheel is securely fitted...

yeah it does...the noise starts at 5mph...

my car has developed a very annoying knocking noise from the front passenger side... which increases with the speed of the vehicle... i was told that it was the passenger side driveshaft...which i changed but the noise is still there... all bearings have been checked...and they seem to be...

when something seems too good to be true...it usually is...:dapprove: beware...its either a Vcar or has major mechanical issues...

if your car isnt classed as either a CAT C or D...then you should flog it...

i have decided to bite-the-bullet...and get the belts changed...lol i am purchasing the cambelt kit...but i was also wondering if i should change the aux belt tensioners aswell...or just change the belt...? also should i bother to change the waterpump...? car = 52 reg...just hit 38k...
