bubbling in the expansion tank and oil in the mixture... I'd of said defo head gasket on the way out. I may be wrong, but that's the symptoms my RT had. Took it to the garage, got the head skimmed, new gasket.... all sorted. :)
I had to get one of these for the Valver. Think it was this part. Anywho, cost me ~£180 from Renault as it was a "specialist part". I tried looking around but no where else sold the part I needed. Gutting! :(
Cheers for the reply. I wasn't knocking your product btw, just checking that I wasn't doing something daft... i.e using the wrong "tools" for the job. I appreciate the fast delivery as well on all the stuff I ordered from you. (The applicators, wash mitts, terry towels, etc). ;)
So what do...
Thanks for the replies.
Hmm I'm sure the pads were clean, although, hey you never know there could of been minute particles hiding within the microfibre. But with regards to the intensity of the marks, basically when the sun hit the car you could see loads of swril marks. It looked bad. But...
Oh, the applicators I used were the "Serious Performance Microfibre" ones. Although, I now cannot see them listed on the site. They are nearly identical to the Meguiars ones in the picture.
Hi all,
I recently gave my car a good clean. New shampoo, cloths, wax, polish, sealant, etc.
However, when I came to polish the car I used a microfibre applicator pad (apparently this should be ok). And to my horror it started making more and more swirls in the paint work! I switched...
Might be worth while spraying the ends of the torsion bar (under the dust caps) with WD40 for a week or so before hand in order to make the job a bit easier. :)
Are the guide pins greased up nicely to allow the carrier to move easily? Perhaps they are causing it to stick on. Or am I thinking of the wrong part here. lol.
Maybes instead of doing a performance mod, do some maintenance? (Although this is probably stupid if you are changing the engine. Lol.)
Perhaps some new rubber?
Piper do a re-grind on the cam for £150 in total. Could do that whilst the engine is out. Although, obviously not as good as a proper cam. I think catcams do a one for £200.
Yup, furthest away. So start back corner (passenger side) then the back drivers side, then front passanger side and finally front drivers side. I think that's the way I did mine, something like that. lol. :)
I would say go with the normal de-cat and see how it goes, if you find perhaps it's too loud and boomy, sell it, cut your losses and buy the silent de-cat. :)
De-cat is the best bang for buck mod on the car, so defo worth it. :)
Ashley Exhaust System + K-Tec Silent De-cat. I'm biased as it's on my RT, but I love it. Not the best fitting system, but you can't complain at all for the cost of it. Being only mild steel it's still going strong (2 years now). :D
I wouldn't recommend a normal de-cat with that system...
Re: Clutch, waht clutch?!
How is the stock clutch the same as the Group N? If it is, does that mean the stock clutch can handle up to 200bhp? Just seems daft to me then that they can market the clutch as better than standard and justify the price difference. :S
Re: Clutch, waht clutch?!
True, but the way I like to think of it is that it means because it is designed to handle 200bhp, when used on a standard or near standard car it can take more abuse and hopefully last longer. :)
I think the engine management light can come on, most people just disconnect the light from behind the dash to solve the problem if it does. :) Or just ignore it. :)
