    197 early morning quarry pics

Nope... and those pics were at the start of the day, I did a few more forest miles after then... nowt wrong with a bit of dirt though, I'd rather be driving my Clio than staying home polishing it :D

    197 early morning quarry pics

Yeah, it's the "learn how to use natural and artificial lighting" effect ;)

    197 early morning quarry pics

Thanks! I think the lighting (they were taken as the sun was just starting to appear) and the water drops on the car/condensation on the windows has made the pics look better than they would usually.

    197 early morning quarry pics

It'll have a proper wash in around 4 weeks, no point cleaning it properly until after the Cambrian and RAC Rally as it'll only get all dirty again - lots of driving around muddy tracks :D

    Night Shots - Tips ??

http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_1&products_id=99654 Not as sturdy or as well built as the £60-£100 ones but for occasional use it's fine.

    Photographers wages?

I don't know about circuit stuff but there's no chance of making a living at rally photography. A few years ago before everyone had DSLRs then maybe but not now. Drivers are reluctant to pay anything anyway, especially with most folk being willing to give them freebies. The only way to make...

    Photographers wages?

Depends what you mean by "do photography"... pro-photographer's assistant? working for a newspaper? doing weddings etc as a freelance?

If you could take ONE lens to New York...

Think of some themes before you go and stick to them rather than going for the tourist shots. I'd have thought limiting yourself to one prime lens would stifle creativity rather than encourage it eg taking a 50mm you might get a standard tourist shot, take an 18-200 and you can zoom in on...

197 goes to Cumbria (via Yorkshire)

Albi can look very dark in certain lighting conditions. The pic is a couple of stops underexposed as well.

Thanks!! Hornchurch? Is that anywhere near Witham? Was down there a few weeks ago on another model shoot.

197 goes to Cumbria (via Yorkshire)

Yes it's Albi. Other than blanking my number plate out and the b & w one there is no photoshopping.

I've been in Cumbria doing a model photoshoot this weekend, had a slight detour via Ingleton to get there :) oh and one of the model :)

    Lens decision!! Help!

No, unless you have a particular need for a f2.8 lens.

    Noob... SLR Pictures

A couple of things I'd suggest.... 1. Composition - eg first pic is good but I think it would've been better to crop out the grass/fence on the right and have the signs on the right and the figure on the left. Also get the full Private Fishing sign in rather than cropping the bottom of it...

    Sensor cleaning..

Plastic spatulas are sold in Ikea, 50p I think. Trim the end to your sensor size and wrap the pad around the end.

Prom Rally Pics (some Clio content!) 56K NO!

I don't blame him, 6R4 for me any day. Not that I'd fit in a Darrian anyway. The braking is the most amazing thing about purpose-built rally cars I think, I went in a Focus WRC and the stopping power was fantastic. The acceleration up hill on gravel from a standing start was pretty impressive...
