The lambda sensor is NOT tested during the MOT.
What you see on the sheet is the Lambda reading. This should read between 0.97 - 1.030. If the reading is between these figures it passes. You say the CO is .50+ - this would more than likely be the Lambda sensor at fault on your car as you have...
Hi Leigh and thanks for the offer of a package tour in a suitcase.
However nice the new Megane Cab is, I cant give up the bacon sarnies!
I will just have to wait for the trip to WATFORD to see the new baby!
Thanks anyway for a considerate offer ;)
Bob RTE

Hi Leigh
I obviously went off on a tangent!
But then again, what the fook do I know! :p
I bet we have forgotten more than we know!
LMAO :devilish:

Hi Leigh
Driveline is a franchised dealer and we have full access to the Renault database. Some franchises do not have access directly but normally can use another dealer to get information on their behalf.
As for the import/warranty issue - this is not my field of expertise and therefore...
It may just be a poor connection on the solenoid wire. Its the small WHITE lead with a black connector. Remove and refit the terminal from the starter solenoid and then see if the starter works. If it does, replace the terminal with a new shinny one.
I know its a bugger to get to, but if its...
Well thats a great deal of help. Itll save me having to trawl through loads of notes!
Ill look up Ti 1215 tomorrow!
Be in touch soon!
Bob (all excited) RTE
PS have you already seen this note?
There are 2 hoses to the heater matrix.
They are located on the baulkhead just behind the gearbox/engine split. They are about midway up the baulkhead.
One will be very hot and the other cold if the matrix IS BLOCKED.
Try that and let me know.

This is a tricky one. There are no figures for a lowered vehicle.
The best way to do it would be on a brake roller tester (MOT type)
Adjust the rod on the brake limiter until the brakes do not lock up when pressing hard on the pedal.
There just is no other way apart from the dangerous...
HI GR
I am not aware of a particular problem with water ingress to the spare wheel area. I do know of a post on this forum where a guy is pokin a BIC pen through the wheel arch that hadnt been sealed properly.
We see a lot of 172s and Cups and to date, I have received no complaints of this...
Sorry Bubbles but it looks as though its not been correctly fitted. I can clearly see the attachment point holding the bumper away from the panel.
I could be wrong, anyone else agree?
Bob RTE
Oh dear!
I do hope the race and bearing fell off BEFORE he put the shaft in the gearbox! Otherwise all these needle rollers will be inside your new gearbox.
If it fell apart outside, why not just pick up all the needle rollers and reassemble? (after cleaning and oiling them of course!)
I...
The brake limiter valve will need to be adjusted.
As you are lowering the vehicle, this will have the effect of a "loaded" vehicle in respect of the limiter valve and therefore INCREASE the amount of rear braking force. This could lead to nasty rear brake lock ups! Not something to be looking...
If the gearbox is of the later type, the standard speedo cable will fit but you need an adaptor. A piece of black plastic costing about £0.19p. from your Renault dealer.
Hope that helps.
Bob RTE
Bob RTE to the rescue!
Sounds to me like the heater matrix may be partially blocked.
Does the temperature gauge read between 1/4 and 1/2 when warmed up?
Does the radiator cooling fan cut in when idling and hot?
Do BOTH the hoses to the heater get hot? or just one of them?
Answers on a...
Mmmmmmm lovely pancakes!
Washing up all done.
Beer and fag on the go.
Logged on! Told you so!
Throttle cable recall???
Dunno what youre talking about!
Anyone who has a Clio 2 SHOULD have received a recall letter from Renault UK. We carried out lots of replacements. Dont know how...

Problems 1 - 4
1/ Could be a coolant temperature sensor or the TDC pick-up. Both can cause this type of problem but this is only an educated guess! Accelerator pedal should NEVER be depressed while trying to start the engine!
2/ Heater not getting hot. Could be a dodgy...
Just tell them you have a lot of sound equipment in the boot and would prefer them NOT to touch it. Also explain that the spare wheel will not be accessible during the service and that you dont want it checked.
They are human after all! Well some of them! LOL
Bob RTE
Hope that helps!
